Together in this place, may we remember we are the church in the world. Amen. THE PRAYER OF JESUS (say together) Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. SHARING THE PEACE OF CHRIST Christ be with you. And also with you. SCRIPTURE Mark 1: 14-20 ANNUAL COVENANTING WITH OUR U.C.W. EXECUTIVE There are many different ways of serving, which are all part of the same call that each of us hears follow me. Together, we try to follow Jesus and, in doing so, to create a church of care, compassion, and community. Each of us brings different gifts to our shared path, showing our commitment in different groups and activities. Although each road taken is different, we know that we are stronger when we walk together through joys and sorrows.

3 Today, we celebrate the executive of the U.C.W. for 2015, who have been called by God, and chosen by the U.C.W. of this congregation for leadership in the church. This ministry, is a blessing, an honour, a responsibility. It recognizes the gifts that each of you brings to work among us. We thank you and challenge you to offer your best to God and to all God s people. UCW Statement of Purpose (said by all UCW Officers) It is our purpose as members of the Kincardine United Church UCW: To unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service. Covenant with UCW Officers (Officers stand) As you come to assume the duties of your office, let us make a covenant with God and one another. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, will you continue to live out your faith with praise and thanksgiving? Will you carry out your responsibilities in this congregation with integrity and joy? I will, God being my helper. Covenant with UCW Membership (UCW Members stand) Will you honour the leadership of these people? Will you assist them through daily prayer, generous support, and personal example, so that, together, we may be a faithful church of Jesus Christ.? I will, God being my helper. Prayer In the name of God: Creator, Christ, Spirit, we recognize and affirm you in your ministry as the UCW Executive. Amen. *HYMN #563 VU SHARING TIME Jesus You Have Come To The Lakeshore Shirley Marie Harris TIME OF CONFESSION Jesus, you find us at our nets busy with boats and tackle. You ask us to follow and fish for a new catch, to repent for the kingdom is near. But we are afraid. We turn away. We cast our nets again. WORDS OF ASSURANCE Christ, you have come. You do come and you will always come, with hand outstretched, and your joyous invitation again: Follow me! We come! RESPONSIVE PSALM #62 779 VU SCRIPTURE John 1: 43-46 (NT page 92 in pew bible)

The meek man cares not at all who is greater than he, for he has long ago decided that the esteem of the world is not worth the effort. A.W. Tozer, Pursuit of God EMILY S CHALLENGE We have a number of special services, events and workshops coming up over the next couple of months. Try taking this as an opportunity to invite someone to join us. Think of a special service that someone you know might be particularly interested in attending, and then invite them for that specific Sunday. Alternatively, think of someone who might enjoy the movie night, a workshop, or another church activity, and invite them to just for that. This isn t about pressure, but about being active in welcoming others to things that fit their interests. Let me know how you do on this challenge!
