Upcoming Events October 6 and 20-5th Quarter November 10-12 - Fall Retreat Pastoral care David Lautzenheiser, david.lautzenheiser@ David Lautzenheiser Inducted into the Hall of Faith One of our very own staff members, David Lautzenheiser, was inducted into the Hall of Faith on September 29! Every year, the Christian Village Communities (a division of the Christian Benevolent Association of Greater Cincinnati, Inc.) honors several individuals for outstanding Christian leadership. For those of you who know David, this comes as no surprise. As he begins his 18th year of ministry at 7

Christ s Church, and his 39th year of ministry in total (wow!), he has served in many different capacities, using a wide range of talents and skills. His ministry journey began in 1977 as a professor of music at Great Lakes Bible College, where he first put his degrees into action: a Bachelor of Religious Education and a Master of Music Education. After seven years, he was hired at Christ s Church at Georgetown in Indiana as music minister and senior adult minister. David joined the staff here at Christ s Church as our music minister in 2000, and in 2007, he transitioned to the senior adult ministry. In 2013, he added the pastoral care ministry as well. When you talk to David, you ll immediately notice his laid-back demeanor. When asked about his skills and talents, he shrugs them off with a very humble spirit. But the truth is that he is extremely talented. He has written multiple musicals, he loves to direct, and you ll see his eyes light up when you talk about theatre, his wife (Mary), two kids, and four grandkids (all boys!). He also lights up when he talks about grief counseling. Grief? Yes! David says that he loves being there for people when they re grieving. Trained in the Grief Recovery Program since 2013, he is devoted to giving people the tools to move through their grief. He says this is a huge joy. Over the past 39 years, David has led countless stage productions, programs, outreach ministries, groups, and events. His very favorite of all was the pageant we had at Christ s Church at Easter and Christmas time, in 2001-2012. A theatre buff at heart, he loves the process of putting together 100+ people who bond over a common goal: giving this gift of theatre to the community and making their holiday a little more meaningful. As we all know, having a life of ministry and being a great leader takes time, energy, and dedication. It also requires support. He is so thankful that his wife, Mary, and family, have always been extremely supportive of the work he has done. We, at Christ s Church, are truly thankful to have this wonderful leader and pastor among us! Congratulations, David, for this award and this honor.
