CrossWave Celebration Arts Team Crossing Cultures with the Wave of the Gospel! www.crosswave.org Hi potential CrossWave team member! We are delighted to hear of your interest in the CrossWave Celebration Arts team! CrossWave is a team of energetic young people and staff leaders who want to know God, love others and tell the world about Jesus. We want to grow in grace and follow Him wherever He leads. So this is exactly what we try to do! Following Jesus means denying ourselves, picking up our cross, and knowing Him better every day. A true relationship with God not only brings a life of abundance; it also helps you to love others. At CrossWave, you will strengthen your devotion to God, grow in community with other believers, and be equipped to minister and reach your world. We believe you can have a fresh, yet proven knowledge of God, and fulfill His Great Commission, not just in the distant future, but today! Each of our monthly CrossWave meetings (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon) is packed with rehearsals, Bible studies, worship, devotionals, prayer, fellowship, play, and ministry. You will miss your own church service once a month, but you will participate with CrossWave as we worship and serve the Lord Jesus in the services of the churches we visit. The CrossWave year begins for new members with an important gathering on July 18 to meet the staff and get oriented with the team. Then on August 9-13 we hold the full Choreography Camp for the whole team to assemble to learn program material, study God s word, and make a lot of new friends! Both meetings are held in Raleigh. There are two fees: $80 due at Choreography Camp (meals, supplies, and performance shirts) and $160 for the whole CrossWave year, due September 1. Also, parents are required to attend the Parent s Orientation on the first night of Camp (Wednesday) to meet the staff, learn about our key operating principles, and sign-up to assist in various areas. Please take the time to carefully read this letter and application to make sure CrossWave is the ministry for you. If you have any questions about the team, please call or text Mary McLaurin at 919-345-0790 for more information. To pursue CrossWave membership, complete the Application Form, have your parent read and sign, have your Pastor or other key spiritual leader who knows you well complete the Reference Letter, and return Pages 3-7 to the address shown. It is very important that you and your parents acknowledge both the COMMITMENT and AGREEMENT statements since they reflect your obligation and affirmation to the team. We believe these commitments are so valuable that failure to honor them could result in removal from the team. We desire to see you grow strong in Christ; therefore, if you cannot honestly commit to these points, then perhaps CrossWave is not the team for you. The Application Deadline is May 31, 2017 timeliness is important! A final note: being a member of the CrossWave team is a privilege. We always want to include those students who want to pursue loving and serving Jesus, but there is a limit to the size of the team, so submitting an application does not guarantee your selection to the team. However, if you truly want to grow in love for Christ and seek to encourage others in the faith, please apply right away! We trust that God will direct your path and confirm it with the CrossWave staff. All applicants or parents will be notified by either by email or phone call by July 3, 2017 concerning your membership acceptance. May God bless your desire to follow Him! Together serving the next generation, The CrossWave Staff P.S. Please attach a recent photo of yourself to the application so we can see your smiling face!

A Brief Introduction to the CrossWave Celebration Arts Team (also see www.crosswave.org) Our hope is to love and enjoy God forever, with a vision to teach and show Christian teens how to know God, love others, and proclaim Jesus to all. As a ministry team, we seek to glorify Christ by developing and exercising our God-given creative skills through speech, music, drama, dance and art. By encouraging the next generation to begin their ministries now, we battle the current culture that says teens are too young to serve God! Here teens learn to engage their heart and mind to the work of God that equips, transforms, and calls them to serve. CrossWave Celebration Arts is sponsored by Gateway Christian Fellowship of Raleigh, NC. We want to disciple teens to: Treasure, marvel in, and worship Jesus, our Savior and Lord, the perfect revelation of the Father Believe, trust, and delight in God s Word and Gospel, transforming thoughts, actions, and desires Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. Fight every sin, snare, and lie to gain freedom from bondage and pursue God s righteousness Trust God s purposes for you, running with courage and endurance while the Spirit yields His fruit Proclaim persuasive answers for everyone who asks why your hope and joy is found in Jesus Passionately proclaim the Gospel to people everywhere, explaining how to find salvation in Christ The CrossWave staff is committed to: Teach you what the Scripture reveals about Jesus, and help you know, trust, and want Him more Although we are not perfect, model a trustworthy lifestyle that honors and glorifies Jesus Provide guidance and accountability for your choices to turn from sin and follow Jesus Help you find your identity in Jesus, not in any skill, gift, or failure, you have experienced Train you in celebration arts to prepare and equip you to serve Jesus and minister to others Show you how to share your faith in Jesus and the Gospel to your friends and in other cultures Encourage you to serve and help your families grow stronger in Jesus Basic truths we believe: The Holy Bible is the infallible inspired Word of God, God s living witness and testimony to the glory of Christ. It is to be trusted and believed as the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. All wisdom, guidance and counsel are to be tested according to Holy Scripture One living and true God exists in three eternal perfect persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Our Lord Jesus Christ, God in flesh, born of a virgin, lived without sin, performed divine miracles, died as a substitute in our place, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven where He rules all creation and prays for His people, and will return to the earth in power to reign forever Salvation is the redemption of sinful man; accomplished through the perfect life, sacrifice on the cross, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, being regenerated and filled by the Holy Spirit, received through grace alone, by faith alone, apart from works, for the glory of God alone The Holy Spirit indwells each believer, enlightening, equipping and enabling them to believe God, to unite them to Christ, and to live a holy life, sealing them forever with power to witness, serve and exalt the Lord Jesus... The unity of the Spirit of all believers in partnership for the Gospel, revealed in the Church, the Body of Christ... The resurrection of the dead to the judgment of Christ, the Unsaved to be consigned to Hell to receive God s eternal wrath, the Saved be glorified and receive God s eternal reward in Heaven All Christians are called to love God, to love others, and to make disciples in all the nations In summary, the CrossWave Celebration Arts team Seeks to glorify Jesus Christ in all that we think, believe, say, and do, everywhere we go, encouraging and training Christian teenagers to develop a proven faith and living relationship with God!
