It takes place in the chapel before or after Mass or at home. Contact the parish office for arrangements or call the office number (639-6712) in emergencies. Ministry to the Sick Let the parish know when a parishioner is seriously ill. The person who is ill, or a family member, should make arrangements for home or hospital visits, or for prayer remembrances. Baptisms This sacrament is celebrated either with the assembly at Mass or in a private setting on designated dates throughout the year. We cannot accommodate dates chosen by parents due to the number of baptisms we celebrate. Only in the case of medical emergency of the child, or an emergency for the child s parents or the child s siblings (i.e. deployment, serious illness) can we consider alternate dates and the date chosen is at the discretion of the pastor or deacon who will preside at the Rite. In anticipation of the birth of their child, it is recommended that parents contact the parish office SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE for sacramental preparation prior to the celebration of Baptism. Confessions If you would like Confession, please approach Fr. Felix after the 5:30 pm mass on Saturday or after the 11:00 am mass on Sunday. Weddings Weddings cannot be scheduled before a couple meets with the Pastor or a Deacon. Couples should contact the parish office for an appointment at least one year in advance of their proposed wedding.

Reflection for Vocations Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time August 27, 2017 Who has known the mind of the Lord? Through prayer our minds become better aligned with the mind of Christ and His will for us. If the Spirit is prompting you to know Christ as a priest, call Father Michael G. Boehling, Vicar for Vocations, at (804) 359-5661 or email mboehling@richmonddiocese.org. The question of the week is a way for you to reflect upon the readings you will hear before coming to Mass? The question allows you to start to apply the readings to your life and allows for the Holy Word to sink more deeply into your spiritual life and daily interactions with others. The reflection for next week s readings: 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time: The call to enter the Paschal Mystery is contained in the Gospel today. We must let go of who we are to become who we are meant to be in Christ. When all is going well, this seems easy, but as pain enters we lose sight of the meaning of suffering and can become mired in what was. We must let go of what we wanted, lift up the cross we ve been given and let God lead us through the suffering to the growth of new Life that awaits us. When have you let go of what you wanted and found new growth in Christ? PARISH ACTIVITIES Anointing of the Sick THIS WEEKEND after the masses. This healing sacrament can be received several times in a person s life. Given when facing a serious illness, surgery or mental health issue, the anointing administered by a priest is meant to encourage, strengthen and console the anointed who can unite their suffering to the suffering of Christ.
