This lesson will help us to understand the importance of using our agency to choose and act for ourselves
The Plan of Salvation Last week we learned about the plan of salvation. Let s put these cutouts in the correct order, beginning with Premortal Life. What do you remember about each step in Heavenly Father s plan?

Each of us is responsible for how we use our agency.
Jesus Christ was chosen in the premortal life to be our Savior. We chose to accept him as our Savior.
There was a war in Heaven between those who chose Christ s plan and those who chose Satan s.
What is Agency? Agency is the ability and privilege given to us by Heavenly Father to choose and act for ourselves. We can use our agency to choose right or wrong, but we are responsible for our decisions.
What are the consequences that come from each of the following choices? Pray Attend church Lie Be happy at home Steal or cheat Be kind to a new neighbor Be reverent in church Obey the Word of Wisdom Love others - receive Heavenly Father s help - learn the gospel - others will not trust you - home is a better place - lose the help of the Holy Ghost - make a new friend - feel Heavenly Father s Spirit - have good health - others will love you Enrichment Activity 2
Let s read Moses 4:1 2 When Heavenly Father asked his spirit children whom he should send to be our Savior, what was the difference between Jesus response and Lucifer s response?
How did Lucifer want to change Heavenly Father s plan? Let s read Moses 4:1, 3
To help you imagine what it might be like to live under Lucifer s plan, for the next few minutes you must do exactly what I say and nothing else. You cannot talk. Stand and remain standing perfectly still until I tell you otherwise. I will now tell each of you where to sit. You will not sit anywhere other than where I tell you. You must sit up straight, feet flat to the floor, looking straight ahead, not moving or speaking. Hold this position until I tell you otherwise. You may now stand again and sit where you want. What would it be like to live under Lucifer s plan? Lucifer wanted us to do exactly as we were told, without being able to decide for ourselves.
Why wouldn t his idea have worked? How did you feel when you were told to do only what I told you to do? How would you feel if you were forced to do exactly what you were told to do all day every day? I am grateful for the blessing of agency.

What Jesus Christ did for us as our Savior is one of the most important acts that have ever or will ever happen. We should all use our agency wisely by choosing the right.
