THE WORD OF THE LORD GOD S PROMISE TO ALL PEOPLE Today, Isaiah reminds the people of God that the land shall be restored to their possession, they shall rejoice to see their people return from the bondage of exile, and that they shall be a light to the na ons. In other words, through the people of Israel, the Savior shall come to all people who seek God with a sincere heart. This brings joy and the radiance of God s glory to all the world and to all people everywhere. Through the fidelity of the people of God, and through God s fidelity to them, all people shall become God s children and rejoice in the fulfillment of God s promise to Israel. Saint Paul Catholic Youth, accompanied by Father Michael, visited Brookstone nursing home in Pollocksville on December 20th. They delivered Christmas gi s and cards made by the students of Saint Paul School and serenaded the residents with Christmas carols through the hallways. January 7, 2018 Dear Friends at Saint Paul: With all our focus on the Ministry Catalog and the Commitment Card, there may not be that many reading this column. But that may be as it should: every parishioner at Mass giving thought to their Epiphany gi s for the Christ Child. Your me and talent placed at the service of the Lord, and your parish, and your neighbors. Thank you for the effort! Be sure to turn in your Commitment Card! Thank you to Erin Johnson and all those who worked with her in the organizing and the communica ng necessary to make our Ministry Fair a success. Thanks to all those who staffed the tables and prepared the informa on. Thanks to all those who are now charged with making our lists and sharing those lists with the ministry coordinators to empower us in our volunteer commitments. Even as the final details were ironed out for the Fair, the big events looming on the horizon move into central focus: the Old Saint Paul Organ Dedica on, the School Gala, and Catholic Schools Week. If you are a fan of great organ music and/or a fan of Old Saint Paul Catholic Church in downtown New Bern, those interests come together on the Parish Feast Day the Conversion of Saint Paul on Thursday, January 25 th at 7pm. The Preserva on Guild for Old Saint Paul Church is pleased to announce a Concert of Organ Music to con nue the mul -year celebra on of the 175 th Anniversary of Old Saint Paul Church. The church was opened in 1841 and dedicated in 1843. The Diocesan Director of Sacred Music, Michael J Accurso, D.M.A., will perform on the newly donated Halyak Organ at Old Saint Paul. The Halyak Organ will be blessed for Sacred Performance during the Concert. Dr. Accurso also holds the posi on of Liturgical Director of Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral and added his significant contribu on to the Cathedral Dedica on this past July. More informa on on the Concert and about Dr Accurso will be in the bulle n in coming weeks. Besides these two events the Gala and the Concert we aim to celebrate Saint Paul Catholic School during Catholic Schools Week beginning January 28 through February 3, 2018.
