Monday 19 th March HOLY HOUR at Lago Jardín from 1700 1800. During Lent, a time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, we are invited to spend more time with Jesus. One of the ways we can do this is coming into his Eucharistic presence. We begin with

Evening Prayer and then have a time of both silent and led prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament and, to conclude, receive his Eucharistic blessing. All are invited to come and experience this beautiful and refreshing act of prayer and devotion. Wednesday 21 st March STATIONS OF THE CROSS This annual devotional event, sponsored by the Mothers Union, takes place each year at the outdoor Stations of the Cross in Rojales. All are invited. We meet at the bottom of the hill, by the first station, at 1100 to commence at 1130. Lunch follows at the Rialto Restaurant (1300 for 1330) in Benimar. You need to contact Wendy Sharpe to give your name if you are coming to the lunch. ianandwendy3747@gmail.com Stations of the Cross is a moving devotion which follows Christ on his journey from condemnation in Pilate s palace, his journey to Calvary, his Crucifixion and his Burial. We meditate upon the different stations and how they are reflected in our own lives of faith and what each one means for us today. If you haven t been before, please come along and experience this for yourself. For details of the Holy Week and Easter liturgies please see the last page. LA MARINA BEACH PARTY Father Richard writes: This weekend we arrive at the Fourth Sunday of Lent. As in Advent (with the Third Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday) we have the briefest of respites in the rigours of Lent with the Sunday we call Laetare Sunday. Laetare is another of the Latin words for Rejoice but this time taken from the Latin translation of the Old Testament Book of the Prophet Isaiah: Rejoice, Jerusalem, and all who love her. The liturgical colour of rose can replace the more solemn colour of purple. In the English Church (and now wider Christian tradition) today is also Mothering Sunday. Primarily it was all to do with the return to one s parish church, one s Mother Church. So this day we give thanks for the gift of the vocation of Motherhood and for our mothers whether they still are living or have died. We give thanks for Holy Mother Church who feeds us and nurtures us in the Faith and we praise God for the Mother of Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary and with her magnify the Lord and remember that, in Mary s words in Sacred Scripture, all generations will call me blessed. May God bless you all. Fr Richard. Lord God, you have given us the Most Blessed Virgin Mary as Mother of Christ and Mother of the Church, With joy and wonder we seek to make our own Mary s song of praise, joining with her in that canticle of thankfulness and love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Did you know the Church of honour of the Blessed in Norfolk where Mary by the then Vicar of of thousands go on holy place England has a Shrine in Virgin Mary at Walsingham appeared in 1061?
