The Ultimate Power Prayer And I prayed unto the LORD my GOD, and made my confession, and said, O LORD, the great and dreadful GOD, keeping the covenant and Mercy to them that keep His commandments. Our Father, which art in Heaven Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from Thy judgments. When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto Thee, into Thine holy temple. They that observe lying vanities forsake that own Mercy. And lead us not onto temptation, but deliver us from evil: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shall thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shall believe with thine heart that GOD hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. for the scripture saith: Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. For same LORD over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noon day. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation; there shall be no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shall tread upon the lion and the adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way thou shalt go: I will guide thee with Mine eye. Because He has set His love upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on High because he hath known My Name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Oh, that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. And now, O LORD GOD, You are GOD, and Your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to your servant. Now therefore let it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You, O LORD GOD, have spoken it, and with Your blessing, let the house of your servant be blessed forever. Give therefore Thy servant an understanding heart to judge Thy people, that I may discern between good and evil: for who is to judge this Thy so great a people? I beseech Thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before Thee in truth and with a perfect heart [in Christ Jesus], and have done that which is good in Thy sight. That the GOD of our LORD Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power. Which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, now and forever. Amen! Ultimate Power Prayer Bible Study Part 1: The Importance of Prayer The absolute importance of prayer in the Believer's life cannot be disputed: Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: For this is the will of GOD in Christ Jesus concerning you. I Thessalonians 5:17,18 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed,. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD; but the prayer of the upright is His delight. The LORD is far from the wicked: but He heareth the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15:8,29 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and He will not despise their prayer. Psalm 102:17 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word. Acts 6:4 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Romans 12:12 Compliments of BibleResearchTools.Wordpress.com 6
Defraud ye not one the other, except that it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. I Corinthians 7:5 For every creature of GOD is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the Word of GOD and prayer. And one of my personal favorites: I Timothy 4:4,5 But the end of all things is at hand: Be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. I Peter 4:7 However, herein lies the difficulty how to pray with total conviction; full well knowing that your requests are honored by the LORD. Thankfully, the answer is clearly laid out in the second half of James 5:16 - The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Reiterated in modern English: The powerfully passionate prayer of a Believer walking in the Light by grace, love, and repentance accomplishes divine awesomeness. Apart from the Blood of the Lamb, there is exactly zero righteousness, whatsoever: If we are of a contrite heart (conducting ourselves with grace, humility, and forgiveness ultimately His divine love washed daily in the Blood of the Lamb)... Only then are we found righteous in His eyes. Moreover, if the only way to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven is to have the faith/understanding of a child (altruistic, as apposed to legalistic), Compliments of BibleResearchTools.Wordpress.com 7
then it naturally follows that our prayer life is also to be that of an unquestioning child-like faith. Consider this: If a mustard seed of faith a very small seed, indeed can move a mountain or fig tree into the ocean, then what would a mustard tree of faith move?! Selah. It is accomplished via a whole-heartedly altruistic prayer life that we establish a mustard tree of faith. This naturally includes being in the Word daily. It is also at this point that the Peace that surpasses all understanding continually washes over the Believer. All fear is gone, as is anxiety, and depression. People are all that matters; the lost souls that you lead to Christ is your real score, and He fulfills the desires of your heart, because you and Him are in one accord. What's more, is that you begin to magnificently fulfill the most audacious of promises that He left all of His Believers: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on the works that I do shall he also, and greater works than these shall he do: because I go unto My Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it. Part 2: His Righteousness His righteousness consists of four primary components that embody GOD's perfect love for us, and our perfect love for one another (in no particular order of importance) - Grace Humility Forgiveness Repentance We will now briefly explore each: A. Repentance The LORD is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3:9 Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy Name? And in Thy Name cast out devils? And in Thy Name done many wonderful works? And then I will protest them, I never knew you: depart from Me ye that work iniquity. Matthew 6:21-23 Two trends that have become particularly disturbing with Christians in general, is that many Christians act as if they have been given some kind of special back stage pass to sin at whim, and will; with their Compliments of BibleResearchTools.Wordpress.com 9
justification being that they are saved by grace (which is only a halftruth). This leads straight into the second disturbing trend: By far and wide repentance is no longer being preached, as it is no longer considered fashionable. Even more sadly, is that this is not merely just my observation, alone. If you truly love the LORD your GOD with all of your heart, soul, strength, and mind; then repentance is more than just a command from on high ; it is a normal, natural part of your spiritual growth (and to be warmly welcomed). If, on the other hand, you find yourself neck deep in sin, shame, or unforgiveness... There is no better place and time than right here and now to: Confess your sins unto GOD (with a broken spirit, and contrite heart). Make amends with those you have wronged, as GOD allows you to. Pray earnestly for your enemies and those that have wronged you (that they may come into the fullness of Jesus the Christ). Never forget the entire chapter of I Corinthians 13; because without love everything is but tinkling brass and a sounding gong. B. Grace For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal sold under sin. For that which I do, I allow not: for what I would, that I do not; but what I hate, that I do. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Romans 7: 14-16 Compliments of BibleResearchTools.Wordpress.com 10
Paul is essentially saying that we are slaves to sin, and that which we do, we ought not be doing; and the things that we hate in spirit we instead find ourselves doing. Whereby we are endorsing sin as acceptable behavior to others; the wages, of course, being eternal darkness and separation from God. So, in order for God to have made generous allowances for us (by way of repentance), grace is God's fulfillment of our repentance. Moreover, grace is God's way of seeing past our dark and ugly shameful deeds; and still yet lovingly yearn for the dear soul held in bondage by sin. C. Humility Verily, verily I say unto you, That the servant is not greater than his lord, neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. Matthew 13:16,17 One of the deepest forms of effectual worship is cheerfully serving God via the poor, the needy, and those that cannot help themselves: Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8,9 The reason that this is, is because genuinely serving the poor and needy with a smile in your eyes requires a great deal of humility. D. Forgiveness Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the alter, and there rememberest that thy brother has ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the Compliments of BibleResearchTools.Wordpress.com 11
alter, and go thy way; first to be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. - Matthew 5:23,24 Volumes have been written on the subject of forgiveness, and many a sermon to boot; albeit with the focus on the importance of forgiving others as we wish to be forgiven. What is covered much less often, however, is the equal importance of seeking forgiveness from those we have wronged. It can be exceedingly difficult to forgive when we have experienced a very personal trespass, particularly as it relates to repentance: Take heed to yourself. If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day, turn again to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him. Luke 17:3,4 May the Peace of our Lord Jesus the Christ take you to exciting new heights in wisdom and understanding, and may the wiles of the old serpent be far from you! His Love Always <>< Mark M.
