Welcome to the Desert Torah Academy WELCOME Since 1999, the Desert Torah Academy of Southern Nevada has educated a diverse student body in expansive general studies, Jewish traditions and Hebrew language. Our caring and non-judgmental environment, rigorous academic program and low student-to-teacher ratio consistently lead to advanced grade equivalency scores and highly successful graduates. DTA students are inspired by teachers who live the values they impart. Our school is founded on the principles of Chabad philosophy and the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. Chabad is a way of life that integrates knowledge and love of G-d, understanding of Torah, and appreciation of every individual s contribution to the community. Chabad has more than 3,300 branches in 75 countries. Nearly a million Jewish children participate in Chabad schools, centers and summer camps each year. Accredited by National Council for Private School Accreditation National Accreditation Board of Merkos L Inyonei Chinuch

Torah Tots Preschool OUR PHILOSOPHY We believe that children learn best by doing. Active participation and play lead to a depth of learning that goes beyond knowledge to life experience.

e Torah Tots experience starts with a safe, joyful and nurturing Jewish environment in which young children develop socially, emotionally, and cognitively. Torah Tots Toddlers AGES 12 MO. 2 YEARS Torah Tots Preschool AGES 3 4 YEARS TORAH TOTS PRESCHOOL Program Highlights: Gross and fine motor skills Program Highlights: Personal space and sharing Self-help skills Goal-setting Social interaction Language development Jewish identity, joy & curiosity Torah and Jewish Heritage Emotional growth Early literacy & math skills e preschool classroom is guided by professional and responsive teachers who model Jewish values and introduce emergent curriculum materials through songs, art, free exploratory play, structured games and conversation. Extensive age-appropriate supplies and classroom activity centers give our children the hands-on tools to expand their imaginations and explore the vast opportunities for learning within their environment. Outside, an ergonomically-designed playground helps children develop coordination and confidence.

Elementary School OUR PHILOSOPHY We believe that all children deserve a curriculum that empowers them to succeed and focuses on individual strengths. DTA provides learning opportunities and customized goals for all our students.

K 4th Grades AGES 5 9 YEARS With the benefit of a low teacher/student ratio, teachers have the ability to use these formative years to help children identify paths to academic achievement and emotional growth. Your child will be part of a community that cares for its members as well as for people throughout the world. Our approach to elementary education is comprehensive and integrated. In this way, our students learn to independently apply each new discovery to all subjects and interactions. In addition to a strong academic program, we engage our students in many extra-curricular programs such as physical education, art, computers and library. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Program Highlights: Critical thinking/decision making Self-esteem and teamwork Intensive secular studies program Chumash program based on building sequential skills Focus on reading comprehension, math, science and social studies/history Instruction that is differentiated to meet students needs Judaic program based on a love for Jewish tradition

Middle School OUR PHILOSOPHY We believe that the study of Torah and Talmud gives our youth the tools for critical thinking and confident communication, benefiting them in all areas of academics.

5th 8th Grades AGES 10 13 YEARS MIDDLE SCHOOL As children become pre-teens, the curriculum at DTA expands their horizons and responsibilities. Instilling our students with a foundation of Chesed (kindness) ensures that they will grow to be active participants and leaders in the Jewish and global communities.
