A WORD FROM FR. IVAN Dear Brothers and Sisters, Mission Appeal I have been away in these last two weekends because I was doing Mission Appeal for our Karenni Outreach. Two weekends ago I was at St. Luke s in Clearwater and last weekend I was at Holy Trinity in Veseli. They are both rural towns and therefore small parishes. St. Luke has three masses in the weekend while Holy Trinity has only two masses. I have received good response from both of the parishes. The parishioners were very impressed to here what we are doing here with the Karenni people. Memorial of My Priestly Ordination Memorial weekend is a truly a memorial for my life and it reminds me of my ordination to the priesthood. My ordination date is May 24th, 2008 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ. Yes nine years of priesthood that God has given me. I am very happy to say that through God s faithfulness to me I have been faithful to the promises I made in front of the Archbishop and the Church. I remember that day is still one of my happiest day of my life, surrounded by my loved ones family and friends. In these nine years a served in four different parishes. As baby priest I did not know how that this joy I experienced in my ordination would persist all these years even in the deepest sorrows in the people of God and in the challenging moments. I can only say that God has been good to me. Each parish I served, I would say it shaped me more than I shaped the place. The mission of each parish much bigger than what I can think of. So God had to form me to according to the parish needs. The beauty of the priesthood still moves me to know a joy that goes beyond my expectation. In my day of ordination it just the begging. Now in the parish I know that the joy is to serve and to make present Jesus. This brings me peace in my heart that goes beyond my expectation. Happy Memorial Weekend and God bless you. Fr.
