C H R I S T M A S DAY AT W E S T Y S CHRISTMAS EVE 6-9:30PM Prep at Westy s, 346 N. Main at Jackson Ave. (one block east of the Pyramid). This is where we need the most help; cleaning and chopping hundreds of pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables. This is the best time for anyone, especially families with children to participate. Dress is casual, bring knives and cutting boards. Join us after Lindenwood s 5pm Family Service, 7pm WOW Service or before the 11pm Service of Lessons and Carols. Food and beverages are available for purchase from Westy s regular menu. Needed: 70 dozen cupcakes. A great way for kids to help feed the homeless and hungry. Cupcakes can be dropped off at the Lindenwood reception desk prior to any service on Christmas Eve or at Westy s after 6pm on Christmas Eve. CHRISTMAS DAY 6:30AM-1PM Cooking at Westy s. We need volunteers with propane cookers, big pots with covers and utensils. Cooking is outdoors regardless of weather, dress appropriately. CHRISTMAS DAY 8:30-10AM, 10-11:30AM, 11:30-1PM serving shifts at Westy s. Adults and older children please, as we have limited amount of positions and space. Casual dress with a friendly smile; please leave all valuables at home or securely locked in your car. Storage space is not available at Westy s. Also Needed: Commercial sized (gallon) cans of green beans, lima beans, whole kernel corn and canned greens (collard, mustard, turnip, etc.) CASH DONATIONS are welcomed to help cover all of the costs of the meal. Checks should be made payable to Lindenwood, designated for Westy s. Canned goods and donations can be dropped off at Lindenwood on Dec. 13, 20 or 24 or during regular weekday hours. Questions? C H R I S T M A S T R E E S Girl Scout Troop 68 has been selling fresh Christmas Trees in Memphis for over 50 years. This years sale proceeds go toward a trip to Europe (Italy, Germany, Switzerland) in July 2016. Since the lot is staffed by the girls (high school age) and their parents our hours are: Wednesdays January 13 February 17 6:30 7:30pm Calling all leaders for an Inspirational Seminar. Come learn Biblical truth, spiritual insights and practical skills and leadership. It is designed to help you uncover your purpose, talents and strengths. It will change the way you look at yourself and the world around you. Join with leaders and emerging leaders to discover new ways of working together and the changing world. Luke 2:8-12 Celebrate Recovery is a Christ centered program that helps one who is struggling with any form of addiction, or any of life s issues that damage one s relationship with God and with others, by showing them the loving power of Jesus through a recovery process. We meet on Monday evenings, 7:00 pm in room 203. If you have any questions, please call Bud Wilson at 901-246-9170. Senior Socializers - Provides an ongoing social opportunity for Lindenwood members. Join us in the Library to play dominoes on Mondays from 11:00 am to Noon and then go out to lunch and on Wednesday mornings from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and bring a lunch. LiferSizers - This is our sit and fit exercise group. They meet every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the aerobics room. We stretch, lift weights, and work out our hearts at the same time. Every Monday from 9:00 am til 10:00 am Mary Beth Harlan teaches a great Yoga Class. No experience required! Cost of class is $5.00. The class meets in the aerobics room next to the weight room. Support your church and others through prayer. The Lindenwood Sanctuary is open each Wednesday, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm for those who wish to come in and pray for our ministries, ministers and worship services. If you cannot come on Wednesdays, you can still participate by receiving the Prayer Guide.
