It is the obligation of every Orthodox Christian to come to Holy Confession during Lent. In Lent, Communion is distributed only on Friday evenings at the Lenten Presanctified Liturgy, at the Saturday morning Liturgy, and at the Sunday Divine Liturgy. There is no Holy Communion celebrated on weekday mornings. The remembrance of the dead is on Wednesday evenings in the Parastas at 6:15 PM, prior to the midweek Lenten Devotional Service at 7 PM.

Forty dollars was received in memory of + Mrs. Anna Brudnak. The Sunday School Easter Candy Project is underway. Order forms are attached to the bulletin. Orders can be given to any student or teacher. Deadline for orders is March 11 th. Delivery date will be on Sunday, April 1 st at the Communion Breakfast at the Educational Center. A day-trip to Taylor, PA and St. George s Church for Sunday School children is being planned as a Lenten project. Two myrrh-streaming (weeping) icons of the Virgin Mary are enshrined in St. George s Church. Arrangements are still being made. Further information will be announced. Children will hold icons in church on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, March 4 th. Candles will be held on the remaining Sundays in Lent and on Easter. Schedules have been distributed. Lenten banks have been given to Sunday School children. Children are encouraged to put change in their bank instead of buying a candy bar or some treat important to them. Let s help them to make a sacrifice instead of seeking pleasure during the Lenten period. A.C.R.Y. 50/50 The January winner was John Yarina in the amount of $110.00. The February drawing will be held on the 26 th.
