Summertime!! So many great things happen in the Summer. We have our students home from school. We go on vacations and spend lots of time with family members. We do not have to shovel snow! (At least I hope not). The summer months are buzzing with activity. It is important that we not allow all of that activity to cause us to miss out on the family reunion that happens at the church building every Sunday. Even in the summer it is good for us to gather as the Body of Christ for Bible Study and Worship. It is good for us to be in this place to lift one another up in prayer and with encouraging words. Hebrews 10:25 says that we should not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Enjoy your summer! If you have a chance to vacation with family, take it. In the midst of all of that activity, remember that God has brought us together as family and that He desires for us to regularly worship and study together. Let s make God happy by doing just that. See you in Sunday School! Your Servant in Christ, Bret Bret Pritchard, Associate Pastor

Dear Church Family, Thank you so much for your generous support of the Media Center book sale that benefited Forest Avenue Homeless Shelter. Together WE raised $238.74! Thanks be to God! Thank you for your book and non-media donations. Thank you for helping set up our book sale, and a special Thank You to Miss Sierra Bird for her organizational talents in the set-up. Thank you for coming to buy books, flea market finds, music, CDs, etc. And Thank You for helping to take down the book sale. Much work goes into it and much love goes in the form of this money raised for Forest Avenue Ministry. God bless you all!! Thank you to the Prayer Ministry last fall for the prayers you prayed over me, as I searched for a doctor that would be in tune with what I needed to have done to my back. Those prayers were answered as I was led to a Christian Neurosurgeon that took 6 months in putting a plan together. The surgery went very well on April 11 and I am recovering as planned. I still have 6 more weeks of wearing a brace and doing exercises before we can say it is a total success, but we are continuing to believe. I can not thank my husband, Jim enough for being the care giver he is. Thanks for all the prayers, cards and visits. I especially want to thank Gerry Woods for reaching out to me while she, herself, is in need. God s Blessings on All, Shirley Coleman Fran Rushing, Forest Avenue Ministry Coordinator To a Wonderful and Gracious Church God s spirit shines through in people like you. From a very grateful Family of Dean Manning Dear Church Family, As Becky and I sat in the Fellowship Hall for our 20th anniversary party, we were overwhelmed by your words. Jesus is the one to be praised! He gets all the glory! Thank you for your encouragement in ministry. The truth is you, the body of Christ, should be hailed. It is a great honor and blessing to have the privilege to serve Christ here and around the world. Thank you for all the gifts and the wonderful cards. We went home with the countless cards and read every one of them that night and wept tears of joy, thanking God for letting us have you as our family that helped us birth our children, see them grow, graduate twice, get married, and now give us grandchildren. You know my flaws (Becky does not have any) and you love us anyway. Serving Christ Together, Love, Kids Fishing Day June 29 9:00-Noon Sponsored by the Brotherhood Dad s grab your gear and your kids and join men of the church for a great outing. You will be fishing in a pond on Rick Ryken s place in Bates City. Men who would like to help may contact Rick Ryken at 522-7392. If you know of a child who needs to adopt a Dad or a Grandpa let us know and we will fix them up with a loving father figure. RSVP Rick Ryken 522-7392 Becky & Randy Messer

Newsletter June 2013 Welcome Devin & Traci Pritchard Devin Pritchard was voted in as our new Youth Pastor with 98% approval. He will begin ministry here June 2, 2013. Devin is not a stranger to us but he has been away for a number of years and look...he has grown up! During his time away from Oak Grove he earned college degrees in Music, started seminary classes, married Traci and I m sure a lot of other things too. He has served in two churches in southern Missouri and has grown in his walk with Christ and it is evident that he will lead our young people to do the same. Please pray for Devin and Traci as they transition to their new ministry home in Oak Grove.
