Page 2 Testimonies Mongolia Mission Trip 2016 (2 nd to 14 th September 2016) Desmond Koo (1st time tripper) - I count myself privileged to be a part of the 2016 Mongolian Mission Team. Seeing poor, innocent and helpless children suffering deep pain and trauma at a local hospital's burnt unit, totally broke my heart. It brought back memories of 1969, when I was hospitalised at SGH for almost two months, suffering from a rare illness. My poor but loving parents were desperately seeking a cure for me. They took turns to be with me each day. I remembered vividly being surrounded by good Samaritans from different nationalities, who came by regularly to cheer patients up. They offered prayers and sweets to us little children. Years later, in my secondary school when I was introduced by a friend to Christ, I thanked God, the ever skilful doctors and the prayers of these good Samaritans from nowhere, that I was completely healed. This time round, I hope our prayers and little act of kindness will bring complete healing and recovery to these innocent Mongolian children. Our hearts are with them always. Billy Chua (3rd time tripper) - I was blessed to visit Mongolia again for the third time. Each trip just gets better and better. This time we had many events lined up for us and we can see how God orchestrated and opened many doors for the team. Everyone has been placed there for a reason and my reason is to serve. When our hearts and ears are in tune with God, we can be both a giver and a grateful receiver of His abundant blessings.
Page 3 Testimonies Phua Tin Tin (3 rd time tripper) - Before I left for Mongolia, I prayed for God's will and purpose be done especially as we had a packed schedule of activities lined up for us. I just want to highlight 2 activities. Firstly, the hospital ministry (Burn Unit), where we brought gifts for the children and were allowed to pray for them. Secondly, the Couple Family Life Seminar, where I was able to impart my experiences to young married couples about having a fulfilling and lasting marriage. I thank God for the opportunity to be able to serve the various communities and to bring blessings to them in the Name of Jesus. Henry and Evelyn Costa (2 nd time tripper) - Psalm 19:1 says that the heavens declare the glory of God. And the firmament shows His handiwork. The beautiful landscape of Mongolia, with her vast mountain ranges and grassland, reminds us of Psalm 19:1. This is our 2 nd trip. The experience was different from the 1 st trip. We experienced the presence and peace of God immensely. The Lord showed us the people whom He wanted us to bless. We are blessed to be a blessing. Wong Tuan Liew and Jennifer (3 rd time tripper) - Two areas impacted my wife and I in this mission trip. First, the visit to the Burn Unit where many young children were hospitalised with burns to their hands, legs and bodies. We managed to pray for the children as well as their parents. These were the little children and people whom Jesus loves and many heard His name for the first time. Second, we managed to share our personal testimonies with young couples during the Couple Family Life Seminar. Our sharing focused on God, who is love. We discussed building family altars, knowing each other s DOPE (Dove-Owl-Peacock-Eagle) profile, 5 Love Languages, etc. Many couples benefited from the seminar and some even offered to serve the church. Lee Saw Hoon (5 th time tripper) - This is my 5th trip to Mongolia. God's hand was apparent in all the outreach and seminars conducted. Many doors were opened - the warm reception at the military base, the invitations to conduct parenting courses in special needs schools, Women's Fellowship and many more. The opportunities were in abundance and we witnessed the faithfulness of God, particularly in the Hospital Burn Unit. Dr Tuya, the hospital s Chief Surgeon, allowed us to pray for the patients openly. Since our last visit in 2015, Christian volunteers were able to minister more freely. Praise the Lord! Overall, this mission trip gave me great joy, both in serving the Mongolians and serving one another in love and humility. We learnt to accommodate each other s shortcomings and focused on our strength. What the Lord asked of us was a willing heart to serve His people and to do the good works which God has prepared in advance for each of them to do. (Ephesian 2:10)
Page 4 Testimonies Low Chew Kim (2 nd time tripper) - It has been 5 years since I last stepped into Mongolia. This time round was eye-opening as we were allowed into the artillery base without hassle. What made this trip awesome was knowing that the officers were blessed by the seminar, which could lead to more open doors in future; and the hospital s openness towards prayer, with the staff opening their homes. We re glad to be the hands and feet used by God to be a blessing to people in Mongolia. Steffi Huang Yujia (1 st time tripper) - The sermon at Christian Fellowship Church reminded me that none of us are useless. This was a good reminder for me because, as the youngest member in the team who is not yet married and without children, I wondered on numerous occasions whether I was on the right mission trip, given the agenda of the mission trip. I was reminded that each of us are God s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). Therefore, God had a special purpose for each of us in the mission team which only each one of us can fulfil. As I tried to contribute where I could and helped with odd jobs here and there, I gradually realised that God s purpose for me expanded beyond this mission trip alone. Through the preparation and implementation of our various ministry activities, I felt that God was giving me a macro view of His work in His church on Earth. I was exposed to the dialogues, perspectives and skillsets at a leadership level. I was also given more clarity of the potential ministries I can and should serve in back in BBTC. In a way, if I had not responded to the call of being part of Mongolia Mission Trip 2016, I would not have learnt all these things which God wanted me to learn as He prepares me for the next season ahead. Thus, I am thankful and my prayer is that God will continue to create in me a willing spirit which He can use mightily for His purposes. Alex Heng (2 nd time tripper) - This is my second trip to Mongolia. Our team revisited the Trauma Hospital Burn Unit and God has clearly shown us His mighty works there. We were received warmly by the staff. We were allowed to pray openly and laid hands on the young patients with their families, took photos with them and chatted with them activities which were restricted last year. I felt God's presence, comfort and peace in our midst as we went around visiting all the wards. Indeed God has always worked in His unique way and opened many doors for us to be a blessing to others as we continue to trust and obey Him. To God be the glory! Acts 20:35.

Page 12 Book Launch - The Outstanding Leader by SP Daniel Foo BBTC is proud to announce the launch of SP Daniel Foo s second book on the 8 th & 9 th October 2016. Entitled The Outstanding Leader, this is a book on leadership drawn from Scriptures and SP Daniel Foo s wealth of leadership experiences from both the church and the marketplace. Here are some quotes by leaders worldwide of what they have to say of this book. The Outstanding Leader is a book for the parent at home, for the spouse in a marriage or the person in the relationship, for the employee at work, or for the student in school. This book isn t for leaders who see their appointment as a title they have earned; but for the believer who accepts his appointment as a function he is called to serve in a role God has called him to fulfil. Lok Vi Ming Chairman, Council of Elders Bethesda-Bedok Tampines Church This book encapsulates the best of Ps Daniel s life experiences of more than 40 years as a leader and pastor. I am convinced that every word in the book was written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to churches, organisations, Bible schools, leadership academies, home groups and everyone who want to know what true leadership is. Samuel Wallston Pastor and Itinerant Minister I have been deeply impressed by The Outstanding Leader written by Pastor Daniel Foo. It is a book that I am going to read over and over again. It challenges my own life as a Christian leader. The author quotes widely from Scripture and uses illustrations from the well-known characters of the Bible, as well as many more recent testimonies of God s working in the lives of individuals. This book is very practical and I found the questions for self-examination at the end of each chapter especially helpful. Michael Ross-Watson Missionary with WEC international Honorary Pastor, Church of our Saviour, Singapore During the book launch period, BBTCians will enjoy a special rate of $15 for the book and workbook set (retail price at $31). BBTCians can pre-order by their Cell Group at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/spbook.
