Reaching Our City for Christ

The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. Matthew 23:37 Jesus cares about all the people in our city. He does not want any of them to perish. He has established His Church in our city with the potential to share the gospel with them all. If our city is not being reached it is not because He is not able, but because we have not followed His command. Our Churches are languishing because we are living in disobedience. God can not bless our disobedience! We at Dynamic Churches International are committed to God and to the fulfilment of the Great Commission. We are not interested in growing a large organization or drawing attention to ourselves, but to simply be obedient to the Lord to serve His Church. As we have sought His leading He has directed us to develop resource materials to assist Pastors and Church Leaders to Disciple their people and develop them as leaders. We have always worked behind the scenes because our ministry is to help you be successful. We have developed a system that is simple and reproducible. Do not hesitate to use it as it is. It works, if you work it! It is not the only system, you could develop your own, but knowing the many hundreds of hours we have put into creating and field testing the Disciple Making Process, I know your time would be better spent in making Disciples than in writing materials! You will need to keep on improving the process in your own church, not by adding more and making it more complex but by trimming back the nonessentials to make it simpler. Even as you do you can help train other Pastors and leaders. The following resources are tools for you to use. Note: All these resources are available from Dynamic Churches International. Use the Order Form at the back of this book or Order on line from our Website at www.dynamicchurches.org A Simple Plan to Reach Our City Step 1. Locate faithful Pastors and Christian Leaders and envision them with a strategy to fulfil the Great Commission in their city and beyond. Invite them to come to our Pastors or start your own Pastors. Objective: Establish several disciple-making churches, each with a network of Groups. Resources: DCI Internet Website at www.dynamicchurches.org DCI Spontaneous Disciple-Making Process Overview (PowerPoint or printed Presentation) Spontaneous Disciple-Making Process Workshops (Workbook and PowerPoint) One-to-One Dynamic Basics, One-to-One Dynamic Discipling training Coach Training and Resources Pastors Resources Step 2.

Expand the vision to many other Pastors and Churches by each disciple-making church reproducing itself resulting in growth in each church, planting new churches and/or assisting other churches to mobilize a sufficient number of disciple-making churches to reach the entire city. Objective: To have each church develop a vision for and a strategy to establish enough Groups to reach its own community with the gospel of Jesus Christ To have each person in each Group identify their friends and family members who are open to the gospel and could give access to their circle of influence. Help them begin a Group with these people. By praying for these people Satan s strongholds over their lives will be broken and many of them will respond to the gospel. To share the gospel with those in their circle of influence. Resources: How to Capture God s Vision for Your Life and Ministry Spontaneous Disciple-Making Process Workshops One-to-One Dynamic Basics and One-to-One Dynamic Discipling training Coach Training and Resources The Spontaneous Reproduction of Churches (Coach Training and Resources Session six) DCI Trainers Handbook How many Churches will we need to reach our city? A good Goal would be to have 1 Disciple Making Church for every 1000 people. Divide our city population of by 1000 = Disciple Making Churches! It Can Be Done and Here s How. Each Church reproduces itself 5 to10 times: Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 1(your church) + 3 = 4 + 3 = 7 + 4 = 11 and helps each of the 5 to 10 Churches do the same!

Example: The Number of Churches Needed to Reach a Country of 30 Million People. 1 + 10 + 100 + 1,000 + 5,000 + 25,000 = 31,111 Years 3 6 9 12 2 15 Over 30,000 Churches. Each Church Reaching 1000 People = over 30 Million People. The Total Population Reached! Many Churches will be sending teams to equip National Pastors and Trainers to equip or plant disciple-making churches in other countries. The above diagram could be possible if each church equipped 5 to 10 other churches to do the same with 5 to 10 churches as they were each reaching their own community of 1000 people!

Expanding Until Each City, Region and Nation is Reached with the Gospel! Once Your Church has the Disciple Making Process Established You Could Expand in a Variety of Ways 1. Other Churches Disciple-Making Process Established 1. Help other Churches become more dynamic by inviting their people to be trained to start Groups in your training sessions. Plant New Churches 2. New Church Church Planter Spontaneous Disciple Making Workshop 3. Model Church Or Expand to a Larger Church 2. Plant New Churches or Expand your present church ministry through Reproducing Groups. 3. Assist Missionaries and National Leaders around the World by helping them plant the gospel in each silo (circle of influence) and Establish model Disciple Making Churches that will expand to many other silos with Groups and planting many more Churches.
