The love of Christ compels us... 2 Corinthians 5:14 Ghana Mission Trip Prayer Guide

Goals of the trip: Represent Christ wherever we go Provide medical care for those in need Share the love of Christ with those we meet Encourage the believers Bring awareness to local congregations Team members: Jarred Brookins, Bart Brookins, Suzette Chandler, Maxine Grace, Jim Grace, Stacey Greer, Cheryl Holmberg, Amelia Morton, Richard Noel, Donna Rochard, Cheryl Ross, Nate Ross, Sarah Simpson, Dottie Sullivan, Josh Walsh. Before the trip: Pray the Lord would prepare the way for the team. He would show us and our Ghanaian co-laborers the right locations for the clinics. Pray for wisdom about the right place for lodging and transportation. Pray He would prepare each of us spiritually, emotionally, and physically for the opportunities on this trip. Ask Him for financial provision for each of the team members, and for all of the supplies we need to purchase prior to the trip. Pray we would remember or be prompted to bring any additional supplies or materials that might be needed.

Daily prayer focus: Thursday, March 10: The team will fly from Birmingham to Atlanta, where we will meet up with Richard and Donna, then fly to Ghana. Will arrive in Accra early afternoon on Friday. Pray for health and strength for all team members leading up to the trip; that God would prepare each one for the week ahead. Pray for all supplies and luggage to make it to Accra. Friday, March 11: We will arrive in Accra early afternoon. Will spend the remainder of the day getting supplies organized and having a team meeting to pray and discuss the week. Pray that our passage through Customs would go smoothly. Pray as Maxine, Jim, Richard, Dottie, Josh, Donna, Cheryl H., and Sarah experience the sights and sounds of Ghana for the first time. Ask God to give Pastor Bart wisdom about any last minute decisions that need to be made on behalf of the team. Pray for rest and recuperation for each of the team members, and for unity to develop among the team. Saturday, March 12: We will spend the day ministering at Beautiful Gate orphanage. Pray we would encourage Ben and Beatrice Kotey, and the children at the orphanage. Pray for those who will come from the surrounding community, that they would sense God s presence in the place. Pray we will be able to get a flow and rhythm for clinic operations quickly. Pray for Suzette, Amelia, and Stacey, nurses on the trip, who will be seeing patients. Pray for good assessment skills, wisdom and connection with patients.

Sunday, March 13: The Team will have the opportunity to worship in Ghanaian churches this morning. Some team members will speak in churches. The afternoon will likely be spent in a clinic for pastors and their families. Pray for Pastor Bart and any others who speak in churches today, that they would proclaim the gospel, and that they would connect with the listeners in a way that transcends cultural differences. Pray for any divine appointments that the Lord wants to make with people in the churches today. Pray for Suzette and Jarred, who have previously traveled to Ghana, to be ignited with increasing passion for the people. Monday, March 14: We will travel to a site to set up a clinic for approximately 150 people. Pray for safety as we go. That as we ride in the van, there would be no motion sickness. That we would find our way quickly and efficiently. Pray for good connections with our interpreters. As we share the good news of Christ, may there be many who respond. Pray especially for the children we will speak to today. Pray for Sarah, Richard and Josh to continue to be used by God to minister. Tuesday, March 15: Clinic day. Pray those on the prayer team would have supernatural insight and power as they pray. We ask God for MIRACLES and HEALINGS! Pray for the Ghanaians who will be assisting our team by driving, preparing meals, or working at the hotel. Pray we would SEE them, and have opportunities to share love with them. Pray for Donna, Jim & Maxine to be filled up with His Spirit as they serve.

Wednesday, March 16: This is a day of rest and sightseeing for the group. Pray that we would have spiritual eyes to see opportunities God puts before us on this day. Pray for our hearts to be increasingly touched by God s love for the people of Ghana. Nate & Cheryl hope to make contacts with a hospital and other Ghanaian officials on this day; please pray for these meetings. Thursday, March 17: Clinic day. Please pray for the health of team members. That no illness would prevent anyone from being able to help with the clinic today. Pray that those who most need to see the doctor/nurse at today s location would be able to journey to the site. Ask Him for the salvation of many this day. Pray He would use Dottie and Cheryl H. for His purposes today. Friday, March 18: The team will work one final clinic this day. Pray for God to provide anything we are running out of such as, supplies, medications, or patience, perhaps! Pray we would love the people we meet today, and our hearts would remain open to what God is doing. Pray for any parting words and good-byes with our interpreters and Ghanaian team members. Pray if there are any leftover supplies, we would have wisdom about how to disperse them.

Saturday, March 19: We will be flying overnight and arriving in Atlanta today. Will clear customs in Atlanta, and then will be picked up to travel to Birmingham by car. Pray for a safe flight. Pray we would not be too tired for any work the Lord still has for us to do in the airport or on the plane! Ask God that each person would be able to process the trip with Him as we re-enter American culture.

After the trip: Ask Him that any seeds that were planted would be watered. Pray for the Ghanaian children and adults who have accepted Christ to become mature disciples. Pray God would speak to us about any future plans for involvement in Ghana. Pray pray for team members to have opportunities to share about the trip in the coming days. Ask God to restore and refresh anyone who is weary from the trip.
