Interior Design and Renovation Services

Granda has been transforming and enriching interiors of churches for over 120 years. With a passion for beauty, commitment to excellence, and outstanding experience derived from successfully completing over 900 projects, we are well prepared to manage commissions from the initial artistic idea to final installation. We collaborate with architects and building committees to bring about worthy and beautiful churches, chapels, and oratories. Our specialization includes: Interior Design and Renovation Liturgical Metalwork and Enameling Statues and Wood Carving Marble and Bronze Craftsmanship Vestments and Altar Linen PROJECT DETAILS Chapel of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Thomas Aquinas College Santa Paula, CA Architect: Duncan Stroik Fabrication and installation of the baldacchino, altar, altar rail, and custom marble tabernacle, GRANDA Cover and opposite page, photos Stephen Schafer

PROJECT DETAILS This page: Corpus Christi Church Celebration, Florida A new parish in Celebration, Florida. Complete sanctuary design including reredos, crucifix, altar, ambo, and custom tabernacle. Opposite page: St. Catherine of Siena for St. Ceclia Motherhouse Nashville, Tennessee Custom designed, hand carved statue.

PROJECT DETAILS St. Thomas Korean Church Anaheim, California Designed with attention to the Asian aesthetic, the interior design and artwork for the parish exhibit geometric motifs that enhance the minimalist architecture. The tabernacle and pedestal were crafted from marble and silver. An Agnus Dei relief, also in silver, was selected to ornament the tabernacle door.

Where Fr. Granda s originality shows itself, where a new art appears, is in his method of representing the eternal Christian symbolisms. - Ernest de Caux PROJECT DETAILS St. John the Baptist Church Costa Mesa, California Complete renovation of an existing interior including reshaping of the ceiling, new lighting design, installation of a large relief of the Baptism of Jesus, side shrines with statues of Our Lady and St. Joseph, custom altar and ambo, tabernacle, tabernacle pedestal, sanctuary lamp, and chairs.

PROJECT DETAILS Chapel of the Immaculate Conception Seton Hall University South Orange, New Jersey Granda artisans created a new reredos for this 145 year old chapel in the original Gothic Revival style. Carved from mahogany and enriched with gold tracery, the reredos houses an elaborate custom designed, gold-plated tabernacle with a hand painted vitreous enamel showing Christ in Majesty. A marble altar and ambo, both with gilded details, were made to match. Two Gothic side shrines were carved for the chapel as well. Each serves as a pedestal for custom, life-size statues finished in the finest estofado polychrome. Granda s carpenters carved by hand a new Gothic confessional, constructed a wooden frieze around the nave of the church, repaired and refinished the paneling on the chancel wall, and restored the woodwork in the narthex. This place is a threshold linking our daily campus life with the eternal plan of God. With all our worries and fears, our hopes and dreams, here we have confident assurance that Christ, the stairway between heaven and earth, is always with us until the end of time. - Rev. Msgr. Robert Sheernan President of Seton Hall University

PROJECT DETAILS Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Hanceville, Alabama An ambitious project of the Poor Clairs of Perpetual Adoration, the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, Alabama is a popular pilgrimage destination familiar to viewers of the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN). Rev. Mother Angelica conceived the Shrine to be the worthy throne for the Eucharistic King. The Shrine remains Granda s most comprehensive commission to date in the United States. We designed and crafted everything from the altarpiece to custom wood furnishings, altars, ambos, statues, stations of the cross, Gothic tabernacles, monstrance and vestments.

To augment and perfect the old way by way of the new. - Fr. Felix GrandA from My Purpose

PROJECT DETAILS St. Cecilia Motherhouse Chapel Nashville, Tennessee For the Nashville Dominicans, this neo-classical Chapel of St. Cecilia is the center of community life, where the sisters gather several times a day to pray together and spend time in adoration. From the main altar and crucifix to the domed, gold plated tabernacle, the design elements aim to be feminine, Southern, and elegant. Architects: Franck & Lohsen, and James McCrery Baldacchino, crucifix, custom statues, crucifix, tabernacle, altar, candlesticks, sanctuary lamp and tabernacle pedestal designed and fabricated by GRANDA

It is a great pleasure to study nature with love and to convert this study to the worship of God to make all the holy mysteries legible in pages of stone, in gold and silver, in light and color. - Fr. Felix Granda PROJECT DETAILS Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano & National Shrine of San Juan Capistrano Costa Mesa, California Carved and gilded by 85 artisans in our workshop in Madrid over a period of 18 months, the Spanish Baroque Mission style retablo stands 44 feet tall, 29 feet wide, and 5 feet deep. Granda s extensive experience in restoration and historic preservation of numerous altarpieces, paintings, and statues facilitated development of our staff s outstanding experience in artistic methods and unique skills needed to give art a truly timeless quality.

PROJECT DETAILS Our Lady of Walsingham Church Houston, Texas The high altar in Our Lady of Walsingham Church is a rendition of the Slipper Chapel shrine in the UK. Granda designers and artisans recreated every detail, from proportional sizing to the correct hues. This carefully crafted reredos includes two statues of early Christian saints, St. Catherine of Alexandria and St. Lawrence, as well as a Crucifixion scene. The statuary was created with the estofado technique, one of Granda s specialties, using 22-karat gold leaf. The custom tabernacle was designed as the Ark of the Covenant, with two kneeling angels. Architect: Ethan Anthony Altarpiece, statues, and tabernacle fabrication and installation: GRANDA
