Meet the Jandorf Family! Member Profile What is your background and what brought you to Ner Tamid Avi first started coming here with his zayde, Morris Klavan, A"H who was the Baal Koreh when he was a young child. His family started coming here 5 years ago mainly for the youth groups and the family atmosphere. As far as religious background, Avi grew up Traditional Orthodox in Baltimore, went to TA, Hebrew Academy, and YU, Esther was born in New Jersey, but moved to Baltimore at a young age and went to Bais Yaakov. What do you do for a living? Avi works for Customs (CBP) as an auditor in the area of International Trade, Esther works for a local Accounting Firm- Graber & Associates Anything unusual you could tell us about yourselves? Ian attends Summit Park Elementary School. He is signed up for whatever sport is in season and Esther likes challenges such as races and competitions. She has finished 2 Marathons, a Tough Mudder and an Iron Girl. She does this because it s fulfilling, fun and most importantly to show her kids that you can do anything you set your mind to with a little hard work. Avi enjoys getting outside and playing ball with both his kids. He coaches little league and basketball for his son Ian s teams. He also enjoys playing soccer and basketball. What part of Ner Tamid are you most excited about? One of the most exciting things about NT is the Thursday night class at the Rabbi s house, which we look forward to every week. The youth activities are unparalleled; Shana and Ian both love the cooking classes and weekly unlimited supply of candy provided by various members of NT We also asked a few questions to Shana, who is having her Bas Mitzvah next week.
