CHOIR DIRECTOR The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Atlanta, GA is currently seeking qualified candidates for its Choir Director position. Extensive knowledge of the order of the Divine Liturgy, the Holy Friday service, and the Salutation services of Great Lent, is required. Additionally, applicants must have prior training and experience in choral conducting. A Bachelor degree in music is preferred, but not required. The selected candidate can anticipate conducting the Annunciation Cathedral Choir every Sunday morning (excluding the Sundays in the month of July), on selected Feast Days (Christmas, Easter, etc.) and on other Special Services as necessary throughout the year. The selected candidate will also be expected to hold rehearsals at least once a week. Students residing in the Metro Atlanta area meet residency requirements for ALL scholarships offered by the AHEPA Mother Lodge Chapter No. 1 Educational Fund scholarships (AHEPA ATL Scholarship). Scholarships will range from $1000 to $3500. The application deadline is March 1 st. 4 PHILOPTOCHOS SCHOLARSHIPS The Philoptochos Ypapanti Chapter has two $2000 scholarships (Anna Mae Livaditis Memorial and Philoptochos) dedicated to promote, encourage, and advance education. These scholarships are limited to high school seniors and undergraduate college students who are members of the Cathedral. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need foremost as well as academic achievement and involvement in the church & community. Students who have not previously received the scholarship are encouraged to apply. Applications are available on the Cathedral Website or by emailing Claire Gilmore at gilmore11@comcast.net.
