TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH July 2015 connections Welcome to the Family In the past six months we have had the wonderful opportunity to welcome 22 new members into the Trinity Church family. Together we thank God for the opportunity to have these brothers and sisters in the Lord join with us. I am excited about how God is continuing to bring new people to us. These folks are excited about the welcome they have received here at Trinity. They see God at work here and want to join in serving our community together. I was blessed to be able to spend time with these new members over the course of several weeks. During our new members class we shared our faith stories, reflected on God s presence through our lives, expressed excitement about the current ministry of Trinity church and prayed for God s future blessing. I always rejoice when I hear others share their journey of God s leading, guiding and providing through the seasons of life. God s faithfulness gives us joy for living today and hope for tomorrow. Even though our journeys have been very different, God has brought us all together here and now in 2015 for the purpose of being the church together. Being together has important implications for us as the church. As members of the church of Jesus Christ we share in both the blessings and the responsibilities that accompany this relationship we have to one another. This close relationship that we have with God and each other is vital to our strength as a church. The apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans points out to us that we are members of one body, the church. In this passage we see why being together matters. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:3-5 As members of the church, we belong together. Together we have the opportunity to bless one another, encourage one another, help one another and continue in the journey together. It is my prayer that you will welcome each and every person you encounter at Trinity church. Be sure to let every person know that they belong. Blessings, Pastor Chris

Page 6 SEED AND FEED Calling all lovers of plants, big and small. We are starting a program to help each other grow fruits and vegetables this summer, and to provide others with the excess of our crops. Here is the plan: Bring your extra plants/seeds to church. We have a table to make these available to all who would want/need to grow. If there are extra plants and seeds, we will offer them to anyone interested (Care Closet, Bible Study, etc ) If you need plants/seeds, please go to the table and take whatever you would like! Whenever you have extra vegetables and fruits, please bring them to church to share with all. Any extra will be brought to the Holland Rescue Mission so that they can benefit from God s blessing to us. Currently, we have tomatoes and gourds, since this is what seems overly plentiful in my garden, along with some seeds that can be planted now for your summer enjoyment. We are looking to share what God has given us, and there is always more than enough to go around. This should be a fun project that helps us help others. Questions? See Dianne Moker. Please help out! Picnic at the Playground Sunday, July 19 6:00pm Join your Trinity Church family at the playground for a picnic and playtime. Bring something to grill or roast over the fire. We will provide chips and drinks. You bring what you would like. We will also provide the fixings for s mores. We just want to bring people together for food and fellowship. Please sign up at the information table.
