What are we building on? Future perspectives of the General Anthroposophical Society Annual Conference and General Assembly of the General Anthroposophical Society Dear Members! What are we building on? - Future Perspectives of the Anthroposophical Society. We would like to explore this question with you and invite you warmly to the Annual Conference of the Anthroposophical Society in the time before Easter, from 22nd to 25th March, 2018. This year, the General Assembly will take place in the form of a conference, starting already on Thursday, 22nd, with the Annual General Meeting embedded in it! We will work together on the development of the Anthroposophical Society and the School of Spiritual Science, in a variety of working groups. The focal point will be the second stanza of the Foundation Stone Meditation. The effectiveness of Anthroposophy, and thus of our Society, is evolving through its connection with the challenges and needs of the present times. Can Anthroposophy contribute to solutions or even, as a guest speaker at the Goetheanum put it, become a medicine for the world? How can the Anthroposophical Society enable and support this effectiveness? Such an attitude leads to the future impulses associated with Ita Wegman, as well as to the relationship to the world and the macrocosm, for which Elisabeth Vreede stood. We would like to take up the future impulses represented through the work of these decisive personalities more strongly into the work of our Society. The working groups of the eleven sections of the School for Spiritual Science are also dedicated to these topics. They wish to present their work and future perspectives this year, in the form of a Market Place in the foyer. Furthermore, there will be a Working Group exclusively for Branch and Group Holders. We look forward to sharing presentations from many countries and will find enough time for this exchange! We wish to report on the developments at the Goetheanum, the work of the Goetheanum Leadership and the Executive Council, and anticipate a fruitful dialogue on the developments of the General Anthroposophical Society and its School, which is what the Annual General Meeting is all about. The day will begins by engaging with the meditative path of spiritual knowledge, the content of the Michael School, in freely rendered Class Lessons. Parallel to this will be an introductions to the School of Spiritual Science, and alternatively the possibility of quiet contemplation in front of Rudolf Steiner s large sculptural composition of the Representative of Humankind. Through the shared esoteric work during the Annual Conference, the relationship to the spiritual world can be deepened and healing powers for the world and the endangered earth emerge. Matthias Girke, Christiane Haid, Justus Wittich For the board and the Goetheanumleitung
