Redemption Do you remember Peter on the night Jesus was arrested? He claimed he had never heard of Jesus. Today we are called to join Peter in testifying to the name of Jesus as he does in the first reading, and in proclaiming our love for him as Peter does in the Gospel passage. The powerful imagery of John s vision in the second reading from the book of Revelation shows us the company we keep when we have faith in the name of Jesus. We join all living creatures, countless in number from heaven, earth, under the earth, in the sea; everything in the universe (Revelation 5:11, 13). The dignity and majesty described in each reading are in stark contrast to the dark and pitiful image of Peter and the other apostles at the time of Jesus arrest, trial, and crucifixion. What a relief that we can all be redeemed so completely! Copyright J. S. Paluch Co. Catechesis is from the Greek word meaning to echo, or resound. Catechesis is the act of resounding or bringing the Church s teachings to the world. A catechist is one who teaches in the name of the Church. Pope Francis says that being a catechist is not a title; it is an attitude of abiding with Him, and it lasts a lifetime! It means abiding in the Lord s presence and letting ourselves be led by Him And this is the job of the catechist: constantly go forth to others out of love, to bear witness to Jesus and to talk about Jesus, to proclaim Jesus. Are you listening to Jesus call? Ready to open up to children and share what you re learning about Jesus? A catechist doesn t need to know everything. A catechist just needs to be open to learning more every day from Jesus who is the Real Teacher. There are ready-made lessons to follow from a Teacher s Manual and experienced teachers to lead you as you lead the little ones. Want to give it a try? Please call or visit our D.R.E., LeAnn Rogan, in the parish office to discuss how you might fit into the Faith Formation puzzle here at St. Anne. You may be our missing piece! Bereavement Program April 12 th following the 8:15 a.m. Mass St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 6400 Spring Street, Racine, Fr. Cox Hall 262-886- 0531. Together in Grief, Together in God, a Bereavement Ministry of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, will present this program on April 12th. Grieving the loss of a loved one is a process all of us will go through at one time or another. Whether the death was sudden or anticipated, few of us are prepared for it, or the grief it brings. There is no one right or wrong way to grieve, and every person's grief is different. Together, we'll talk about the process of grieving, living when a loved one dies, and healing a grieving heart. The program will be presented by Susan McNeil, Director of the Nazareth Project for Marriage and Family Formation for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Steubenville Youth Conference Coming to Kenosha-July 22-24 Partnership for Youth will be hosting a brand new Steubenville Youth Conference at Carthage College, July 22-24. Kenosha Volunteers Needed This is a huge undertaking. Volunteers are needed for a variety of areas: greeters, hospitality and registration, to name a few.
