Allegro moderato Schubert St. Andrew s Orchestra Hymn What Wondrous Love Is This wondrous love 2

We gather in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Confession and Forgiveness God of all mercy and consolation, come to the help of your people, turning us from our sin to live for you alone. Give us the power of your Holy Spirit that we may confess our sin, receive your forgiveness, and grow into the fullness of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Amen Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and one another. Silence for reflection Gracious God, have mercy on us. We confess that we have turned from you and given ourselves into the power of sin. We are truly sorry and humbly repent. In your compassion forgive us our sins, known and unknown, things we have done and things we have failed to do. Turn us again to you, and uphold us by your Spirit, so that we may live and serve you in newness of life through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen God, who is rich in mercy, loved us while we where still sinners. Because of Jesus and his death and resurrection, I declare to you the entire forgiveness of all you sin in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship in freedom and grace. Amen. Thanks be to God. Anthem 9:00 Praise His Holy Name! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. Prayer of the Day Eternal Spirit and Ever-present Love, You bring us to life and strengthen our inner beings. You gather us into one body and ground us in love. Open our minds to hear your Word and wisdom. Open our hearts to the needs of our broken world. Open our lives to resonate with you, now and forever. Lesson Romans 8:31-39 What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else? Who will bring any charge against God s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? It is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For your sake we are being killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. WE INVITE CHILDREN TO DOCK AT THIS TIME Please make sure your child is wearing a nametag with name and grade level. ************* See FRONT OF INSERT for Pickup Locations ************** Hymn Children of the Heavenly Father God his own doth tend and nourish, in his holy courts they flourish. Holy Gospel Mark 14:1-9 Glory to you, O Lord. They went to a place called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, Sit here while I pray. He took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be distressed and agitated. And he said to them, I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and keep awake. And going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. He said, Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me; yet, not what I want, but what you want. He came and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter, Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep awake one hour? Keep awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Praise to you, O Christ. Sacrament of Holy Baptism 10:30 Sydney Leigh Borgen Daughter of Kristina and Brent Borgen Korbin Grace Savage Daughter of Danielle and Scott Savage Croix Gregory Willett Son of Brooke and Jeremy Willett Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen 6
