THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST

Transcription:

Jesus Will Return! Three days after His death by crucifixion, Jesus miraculously rose from the dead. Jesus then delighted His disciples and followers by appearing to them for forty days, teaching them about the Kingdom of Heaven. At the end of the forty days, Jesus and His disciples gathered together on a hill near Jerusalem. Jesus told them that they should wait in Jerusalem to receive a special gift from God, the gift of the Holy Spirit to give them power to be His witnesses throughout the entire world. While they were watching, Jesus rose in the clouds to go to be with His Heavenly Father. While the disciples continued to look up after Jesus departed, two angels appeared to them and said: Why are you looking up to heaven, Jesus will come back again in the same way you saw Him depart to heaven (Acts 1:11, paraphrased). You can read the full story of Jesus appearance and teachings to His followers after His resurrection in John 20 and 21, Luke 24, Mark 16, and Acts 1:1 11.
