This I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong; they are weak, but he is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so. As the congregation sings, all children are invited to come forward. I Am a Child of God I am a child of God; You are God s child, it s true. Children of God are called to love one another, as Jesus taught to do. As the congregation sings, the children may go to Children's Church in the Chapel. Our Mission & Common life We thank God for these opportunities for fellowship, for worship, and for service. Thanks be to God! Rev. Robert English The gospel Psalm 27 CEB Listen and you will live. Thanks be to God! We Hear God s Word Leslie Nordby anthem The Chancel Choir/Dr. James Smith, Music Director Come Thou Fount (arr. Craig Courtney) Come, thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I m fiexed upon it, mount of Thy redeeming love. Here I raise mine Ebenezer; hither by Thy help I m come; and I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, interposed His precious blood. O to grace how great a debtor daily I m constrained to be! Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wand ring heart to thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here s my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above. The lesson I Peter 2:9-10 (Pew Bible page 233, N.T.) Listen and you will live. Thanks be to God! sermon "Streams of Mercy: The Fullness of Mercy" Rev. F O C U S O N children s church February 21, 2016 tricia Lindley, Director of Children & Youth Ministry On every third Sunday of the month, the children of First UMC in Kindergarten through 5th grade gather for song and movement as we explore what the heart of worship is all about. Children s Church is a space for children to learn about God and God s loving activity in the world through music and movement, with the leadership of Janet Searfoss. Children s Church gives children the opportunity to learn about music and singing in a creative and fun new way, and then to share their gifts and music with the congregation on designated Sundays throughout the year. Most recently, the children and youth worshipped and sang during the Family Christmas Eve service. We now look forward to hearing our children sing on Palm Sunday!
