Kensington temple city church SPRING 2014 CELL GROUP Prayer Diary & Bible reading Plan But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light 1 Peter 2:9 1

Welcome to our SPRING 2014 Prayer/bible reading Diary Daily Bible reading plan I believe that the Holy Spirit has designated 2014 as a year of breakthrough for Kensington Temple London City Church. This is good news but it is also a great challenge to us. Breakthroughs come through united, concentrated prayer and intercession - they just don t happen by themselves. It is time for our cells and churches to arise to new levels of personal and corporate prayer. We are all priests to this great city of London! We stand before God on behalf of the city in intercession but we also stand before the city on behalf of God in evangelistic proclamation. Cells arise! It is so important that we are in the Word and the Spirit every day and this Prayer Diary has a daily Bible reading plan that will take us right through June. This Prayer Diary is to fuel concentrated prayer at four levels of our church: 1. Personal daily prayer and Bible reading Every day we will be reading through the Bible together and praying for a particular aspect of our life and ministry. 2. Cell ministry Cell leaders will encourage and monitor the use of this prayer diary in the life of the cell members and also use it for prayer in their cell meetings. 3. Early morning prayer meetings Early Morning prayer meetings will be held at Kensington Temple at 6.30am- 8.30am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Leaders from our LCC network will be hosting these meetings and using the Autumn/ Winter Prayer Diary (and specific Missions Prayer diary) to concentrate our prayers. 4.Wednesday evening prayer meetings & Monthly half -night of prayer The Prayer diary will be used as fuel for our regular Wednesday Prayer meeting along with the monthly half night of prayer. The pages before the Prayer Diary and Bible reading plan will highlight some specific areas that I believe we need concentrated payer for in the coming Spring season. Let us raise our levels of devotion, prayer and study of God s Word! This is the foundation upon which all God s plans for us depend! 2 3

PRAYER FUEL FOR SPRING 2014: PRAYING WITH VISION! My Anointing declaration! Abraham believed God who gives life to the dead and calls those things which are not as though they were. Romans 4:17 Personally, I never feel that I can pray meaningfully for something unless I have first been inspired by a vision from God. Unless I am carrying the vision in my spirit then I can t persist in prayer for long. First of all I need to see the answer. Faith constantly operates in picture form. The Holy Spirit will often inspire us with a visual image of some sort to accompany a word of faith. Once he gives us a revelation of what he is going to do, then we too can see what it looks like and we can pray effectively, asking the Father to bring about what he has purposed. We will never develop an effective prayer life until we learn to see God s answers before they come. We will never pray successfully for someone else s healing or salvation until we have seen it accomplished already in the Spirit. In the same way, we will never receive other answers to prayer until we are praying according to the vision of God. When you set out to pray about a specific issue, first spend time waiting on God, talking to him about it and listening to what he says. Make it your goal to wait on God until the Holy Spirit gives you a vision of the finished product to guide your effective prayer. Once you realise that this is the way in which the Holy Spirit works, you will want to allow him to show you the answers to your prayers before you receive them. Of course you still need to pray, but this will help you begin to flow powerfully in faith and within a short while your prayer life will come alive. You will be excited about praying and you will enjoy watching God s answers match the vision that he gave you at the beginning. Declare from the heart each day before prayer: I confess and declare that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed. He is the Bearer of the Spirit, and he baptised me in the Spirit. I know that I am filled, saturated and anointed by the Spirit of God. He is in me and I am in him. Hallelujah! I recognise the voice of the Spirit. I walk in the ways of the Spirit. I resist the enemy by the power of the Spirit. I rely on the Spirit for everything. The Holy Spirit is my Helper, my Comforter and my Guide. He is my favourite Teacher and my closest Friend. He stands with me and speaks for me. And I stand with him and listen to his words. I declare that I am sensitive to the Spirit s promptings in my spirit. I am careful never to grieve him or quench his holy fire. The Spirit releases God s power within me, and enables me to serve the living God. He gives me access to the Father s grace, and brings God s presence to me. He is the Spirit of fellowship, and through him I rejoice in the unity of the Body of Christ. I am his and he is mine! Praise his holy name! 4 5

Prophetic Prayer Lines The Giants of Society Our Senior Minister prophesied that 2014 would be a year of breakthrough for our church. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, says the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, says the LORD of hosts. Haggai 2:9 Jesus told his church to be salt and light in the world. That is, to penetrate society with the healthy influence of our salt-like presence, and to illuminate society s thinking with the light of gospel values, The cell groups are part of the go and show thrust of the church. Traditional church has a come and hear emphasis and largely holds its activities within the sanctity of its buildings. Cells have the capacity to penetrate every part of society and to exercise influence for Christ in the heart of the agora, or market place of today. For Kensington Temple to reach its destiny with God it must become the greatest disciple making church in London. Canon James Wong I saw people coming through the doors of KT and written on their forehead was HEARERS OF THE WORD ; then I saw the same people leaving the church through the identical doors but now written on their foreheads was DOERS OF THE WORD! A KT elder in the 1980s. A recent prophecy by a national leader said that now was the time for the true sons and daughters of KT to arise and build the house of the Lord. We equip our members to take the giants for God. The giants of our society are the great institutions and professions which exercise the most influence over our lives. We hold regular giants forums in which cell members from each of the major professional or occupational groupings can get together to encourage one another and to find ways of influencing their environment. That way we are facilitating cells in every major profession and section in society. We group the giants in the following way: 1. Business and Finance 2. Ecology and Environment 3. Education and Training 4. Law and Order 5. Marriage and Family 6. Media and Arts 7. Medicine and Health 8. Politics and Government 9. Religion and Belief 10. Science and Technology 11. Sport and Leisure 12. Thought and Philosophy During the days after George Jeffreys founded Kensington Temple in 1931 people would send prayer requests for healing to our church from all over the world. KT was nicknamed the Church of the great Physician because of the great healing flow that came out of it. Pray that God would increase the measure of the ministry of the miraculous though our ministry in 2014. You have just read some powerful prophecies and promises regarding our ministry here at Kensington Temple. The Bible teaches us to take the prophetic promises of God and wage warfare with them by prayer and action. This Spring continue to meditate on the above words and pray them through like never before. Prayer fuel Our monthly prayer diary will cover these Giants of Influence, but we must also identify which of these we are called to and have an interest in and take prayerful action. Watch out for opportunities in our forums to get involved! Also these giants are appearing in the news every day, identify them and seek to pray the will of God into whatever situation is being broadcast. 6 7

KT Cell Prayer Cycle This year our Senior Minister has produced for us a KT cell prayer cycle to form the basis of all our praying in KTLCC. The diagram looks a little like a wheel with the cells at the hub of it. As a cell church, it is our intention that everything proceeds from the ministry of the cells. Cells are at the centre of everything we do and everything we do should spring from the cell ministry. The cells should resource and empower all the important areas of the church from global missions to worship teams, from intercession and prayer to influencing the giants of our society. Throughout our recurring monthly prayer diary we will be praying for a fresh anointing and breakthrough in all these highlighted areas. However let us also meditate on this cycle and pray as the Holy Spirit leads us in our prayer times. The evangelism of 3 Unless we keep evangelism as our primary purpose, the cell groups easily slip into the comfort of Christian fellowship meetings. 1 2 3 MARCH That is why we centre all cell group activity on what we call the Evangelism of 3. Prayer triplets are not new, but they are an effective way of involving every single cell member to win people to Christ. We begin by asking cell members to make a list of 10 people whom they know, meet regularly and can invite to the cell meetings. Then we focus on 3 people the Holy Spirit shows us on each of these lists. Joining with 2 or 3 other people, we begin to pray daily for those on our shortlists. Regular cell meetings will include time for prayer and strategic planning, in order to win these precious people for Christ. The cells then organise their meetings and activities around the goal of reaching their friends with the gospel. Write down up to ten names of people you are in regular contact with in London that don t know Christ and pray for their salvation each day. 10 NAMES 1 6 2 7 3 8 4 9 5 10 If you don t have a full ten ask God to show you new people to befriend. Each month ask the Holy Spirit which three people you should specially reach out to that month and write their names down. Your cell leader will help you in this. APRIL Don t forget to join our next XEE friendship evangelism course. We can turn even the most fearful believer into a confident witness for Christ! 10 11 1 2 3 1 2 3 MAY JUNE 1 2 3

The Midnight Cry DR RT KENDALL In my little book The Day the World Changed (meaning 9/11) I predicted that things in the world would get both worse and worse and better and better. The worse and worse is being fulfilled; but the better and better? Not yet. However, the better and better refers not to the economy and peace in the world but rather to the spiritual condition of the Church in many places. Jesus said that that the church in the last days would be asleep (Matthew 25:5). The scary thing about sleep is, we don t know we were asleep until we wake up! We do things when we are asleep (as in our dreams) we would not do when wide awake. I fear that a sleeping church is tolerating things that were once thought disgraceful. Where is the outrage? You tell me. And we hate the sound of an alarm. Jesus said there would be a Midnight Cry just before the Second Coming. At midnight the cry rang out: Here s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him! (Matthew 25:6). Midnight in this case does not mean 12 o clock midnight but rather is a translation of a Greek word that means in the middle of the night when we are in a deep sleep. I have wondered if the Midnight Cry of Matthew 25:6 could be in two stages, or two realms to the world generally and to the church: (1) a general wake-up Call which may have happened on September 11th 2001. If so, the awakening was short-lived. Most people rolled over and went back to sleep. To the people of God there will be (2) an amazing, astonishing and sudden Call that will emerge clearly and unmistakably. How? I don t know. But it will happen prior to the Second Coming and if I were to be totally honest with you in my lifetime. Dr RT Kendall is has joined the KT ministry team for the first six months of 2014. The message regarding the Midnight Cry is burning strongly in his heart and he has ministered this message a number of times at KT. Prayer fuel: 1. For the Holy Spirit to awaken yourself and your cell group out of spiritual slumber 2. For the Midnight Cry to hasten in its coming 3. For KT to be one of the churches that hears the Midnight Cry and is found with oil in its lamp when it sounds 4. For Dr RT Kendall to be used powerfully of the Lord during these next six months in his ministry at KT and also in all his other ministry engagements during this period. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2: 42 12 13

Romania Algeria Kensington Temple works in nations all over the world by last year our cell groups adopted two nations in particular to pray for, give to, and where possible go to: namely Romania and Algeria. Kensington Temple is heavily involved today in the country of Romania and with the move of God that is happening in the city of Constanta. The Leaders of Kensington Temple visited Romania in 2013 and have ministered to leaders; equipping the leaders and people of God who cry out for him. In February we sent 27 KT cell members on a mission to minister to the church we are partnering with in Constanta, Romania. Prayer fuel: Pray for the work of the Holy Spirit to increase in the churches of Romania. Pray for Pastor Vasilica and all his leaders and their family as the seek to extend the kingdom of God in Romania. Pray for the pioneers of new church plants and outreaches that God would bless and multiply their work in the Gospel. Pray for all the education, social work - feeding and clothing that the church is doing in Costanta. Continue to lift up the nation of Romania and the nation s leaders in prayer. Pray that the partnership in the gospel between KT and the Romanian church would be strong and effective. Kensington Temple is strongly partnering with certain growing churches and church planting movements in Algeria. Algeria is an Islamic state that is increasingly being touched by the hand of God. The Kabyle tribe today located in the east of Algeria are planting churches in rapid numbers and desperately need our help and resources. Last year more than 2,000 people got baptised in the region of the Kabyle. Miracles today are breaking out in the nation of Algeria. The people in Algeria are seeing visions of Jesus or and healings are common phenomena! Prayer fuel: Pray for multiplication and strong consolidation of both believers and new churches in Algeria. Pray for new leaders to arise within the community to lead the new works. Pray for the persecuted Christians in this nation. Pray for a great harvest of souls amongst Algerian Muslims. 14 15

2) Consistent, concentrated, effective prayer! Colin has already explained to us how this booklet is to be used in prayer (see pages 2-3). We have put a picture of our Senior Minister on the front cover so that we remember to pray for him and all the leaders under him in KTLCC every time we pick up the booklet. Kensington Temple daily prayer and Bible reading diary Each day before prayer say out loud the Anointing Declaration on page 6. You will notice how this sets your mind for victory each day and causes your praying to be mixed with faith and expectation. The Prayer Diary is meant to be repeated each month right through to June 2014. 3) A good way to pray each day is by using the acronym ACTS Adoration: Praise God for who he is. Proclaim his goodness. Pour worship upon him. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayer Acts 2:42. A people with a passion can only sustain the fire of the Holy Spirit through the fuel of God s word, prayer and fellowship. 1) Daily Bible reading But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that is proceeding out of the mouth of God Matthew 4:4. If you don t eat good food on a daily basis you will grow weak and ineffective in everything you do. Likewise if you don t feed on God s Word daily you will be spiritually weak and unable to cope not only with the call to be a disciple but even with normal everyday challenges. We have put a daily Bible reading plan in this booklet that will take you through the Bible in a year. It is one of the most popular Bible reading plans of all time devised by the great revivalist Robert Murray M Cheyne. Start on whatever day you first receive this booklet so that we can all read the same word together each day. If for some reason you miss a day or a few days just re-join the plan again according to the actual date, don t try to catch up what you have missed and don t give up - be steadfast. This is about regular Bible reading. Expect God to speak to you during your reading. Use book marks in your Bible/Bible apps for ease of daily reference. Encourage one another in this in your cells each week. Confession: Remind yourself of your need for him and reliance on him. Keep short accounts with God ask him to forgive you and make sure you forgive others each day. Don t dwell negatively on this though, get right with God and your fellow man and then move on! Thanksgiving: Thank him for actual named things that he has done, and thank him for what you believe he is going to do in faith. Supplication: Come to God with your needs and the needs of London and the world and pray for the daily items in the Prayer Diary. We also strongly advise you to pray in tongues for 15-20 minutes a day to build yourself up and get victory for your day! Have you tried a Bible App? YouVersion is a free app that has many Bible versions so you can read your Bible in a translation or language that suits you - it also includes audio so you can listen to God s Word on your daily commute! It even has a daily reading plan with reminders. Most versions are free to download - you can bookmark your favoutite passages and add your own notes. YouVersion is available for iphone/ipad, as well as Android. Blackberry, Windows and Kindle Fire devices. Go to: bible.com/app to get started 16 17

Pray for the church in Europe to awaken and that God will raise up a new generation of disciples and leaders to turn the tide of apostasy and cover the continent with gospel preaching and church growth. Day 5: KT Cell Prayer Cycle: Evangelism, keep working and praying over the Evangelism of 3 (see pages 10-11). Pray for your Evangelism of 3 by name every day and seek the Lord for prophetic insights into their lives especially today in your prayer. What is God saying to you about them today? Command their spiritual ears to open and hear the gospel. Day 9: Using the prayer fuel on page 4-5 pray with vision, ask the Holy Spirit to show you a vision and picture of answered prayers. Continue to use sanctified imagination throughout this month and see answered prayer in the Spirit before it manifest on the earth. Keep praying like this over your Evangelism of 3 daily. See them being saved! (Pages 10-11). KT Cell Prayer Cycle: Pray for the fivefold ministry to emerge even stronger from out of our cells in KTLCC this year, that the people in cells would be prepared for ministry. Choose 2 out of the fivefold ministry and especially pray for their manifestation in our cells and churches (Ephesians 4:11-12). 18 19
