Monthly Newsletter two One church meeting in two venues Cuffley & Potters Bar Welcome to the May edition of our newsletter. Brandon Park in his book LifeCoach Discipleship identifies four ways God answers prayer. 1. Sometimes DIRECTLY. Sometimes are prayers are answered so directly, it is the unmistakable hand of God. 2. Sometimes DIFFRENTLY. God doesn t give us what we ask for, he will give you something that is better for you. 3. Sometimes the answer is DENIED. God simply says no because what you re asking for is wrong. Remember though, God always has your best interests in hand (Romans 8:28). 4. Sometimes the answer is DELAYED. Quite simply, God wants for you what you want for yourself, but on a different timetable. That s why the Bible says that we are to keep on asking, seeking, and knocking. Remember, God delays are not necessaerily his denials (see Luke 18). Questions: 1. Can you think of an example of how God has answered prayer in one of these four ways for you? 2. What did God teach you about himself in how he answered? Our Vision Statement: To Grow through Living Out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission

Note: Much more Life Group material can also be found on the church web site.
Available on Web Site This is an excellent resource to help people to become disciples who then go on to make disciples. Written by Dr. Brandon Park with the subtitle: What You Should Know and How You Can Grow, LifeCoach Discipleship is a tool for personal and spiritual growth and development It combines captivating media, practical content, and thoughtprovoking study questions all on the platform of interactive discipleship coaching relationships. Studies have shown that we grow best spiritually when we have someone to invest in us and walk with us in life. This material will help you achieve this. The goal is for the mentee, the one being discipled, to become a mentor to multiply other disciples. You were made to be a disciple and to make disciples. Some of the material is now available online at: www.lifechurch.uk.com/life-groups/ If you would like to buy a copy of the book on which the material is based, or want more information please get in touch with Phillip Coffin or William Wong. Church Members - Leadership Election It was announced at our last church members meeting that Mary Gregory, Diane Gilbert and Derek Gregory (Greg) - who have served on the leadership for many years, feel that the time is right for them to step down with effect from 1 st September The roles of Church Secretary and Treasurer contain a number of different tasks, all of which will need to carry on when Diane and Greg step down. This means we need to start the search for replacements now. We ask for your prayer that God will raise up the right people to fulfil these roles. Please prayerfully consider if God might be calling you personally into any part of either of these roles. Perhaps you could take on one of the roles, or maybe you could be part of a team. If you do feel you have a calling in these areas, or would like to know a bit more about what they do, please contact one of the pastord or elders. Feel free to talk to Greg or Diane about what they currently do, though they won t be leading the search for a replacements. Functional experience is a bonus but not necessarily a pre-requisite ultimately like any church role a passion to serve and to further God s kingdom is fundamental.
