HELP!! We have April open on the donut sheet. The Donut list is on the bulletin board. Please join us for Fellowship after the service and volunteer to pick up the donuts. Information is on the bulletin board in the hallway. Thank you for your help. Homeless Event: On Friday March 16th the High School Youth will drive to Bloomington and spend the night in cardboard boxes. If you know where we can collect a few more big boxes let Katie or Jed know. The youth will live like the homeless live, eat like they eat, and experience (to our best ability) what they experience. This event will help all those who participate start to see homeless people as brothers and sisters that maybe caught a bad break, got in with the wrong crowd, or tried to fix their problems in the wrong way. It will encourage us to pray with and for these people and, to throw out the stereotypes we have built up. LENTEN BANNERS (On the south Sanctuary wall) Lenten banners will take us this Lenten Season on the pathway of our Lord s passion. The First Lenten Banner This banner depicts Jesus in Jerusalem. The color purple symbolizes royalty, that Jesus is King of all Kings; the color violet means the pathway on the banner, and is also the seasonal color for Lent. It is a call to repentance. The palm branch reminds us of the paradox of joyous shouts of Hallelujah from the crowd as Jesus entered Jerusalem, and the shouts of Crucify Him a few days later. Because our flesh is weak, we succumb to sin for which our King lay down His life. It is ever important that we follow the violet pathway thru our life. The Second Lenten Banner This banner displays wheat, which is made into bread, and grapes, which are made into wine. They are the simple earthly means which together with God s Word convey to us His body and blood. Each one of us must take food into the mouth and swallow and digest it himself in order to receive nourishment. This heavenly meal the Lord so graciously offers us is personal also. He recognizes each of us personally as His own dear child cleansed from sin by His blood, and each of us receives Christ personally into his or her own heart.

Immanuel is having an Easter egg hunt April 7 th at 4 pm. All children through 5th grade are invited to participate. Donations of individually wrapped candy are needed and can be placed in the container in the library. Thank you. Stacy Luth 882-7595 Marsha Mohr 202-7468. SAVE THE DATE - Saturday, March 31st Your church needs your help. We are planning a deep cleaning at Immanuel on Saturday, March 31st. We need as many hands and strong backs as possible. Men and women are needed to get everything done that is on a long list of areas to be cleaned inside the church. On the list are basement areas, balcony in old church, old Sunday School rooms in back of Fellowship Hall, library, just to name a few. Le Ann Benner is planning lunch for all of the workers. Please contact her if you can help with the lunch or can bring a salad or desert. We all have a stake in keeping the church looking good, so please plan to help on Saturday, March 31st. Thanks! 125 th Anniversary photo There is a copy of the 125 th Anniversary group photo on the bulletin board together with numbered silhouettes of everyone. Please help identify the people by writing their names by their number. Neighbor 2 Neighbor (N2N) Our congregation will once again be participating in N2N. N2N is an invitation to church for Easter, the Easter Egg Hunt and VBS acting upon the commandment to love our neighbors (Mark 12). Yes, our neighbors includes our families and friends but God has called us to love even beyond this. Our neighbors actually do include our physical neighbors. N2N is a simple event that will help our members experience what being a neighbor can mean and let our physical neighbors in Sidell know that we are here and they are welcome. We would love as many members as possible to be a part of this event. There is no age limit. The only requirement is a desire to let our neighbors know they are welcome at Immanuel. We will meet March 24 th and prepare at 9:30 am, go out at 11, and come together for lunch at 12:30. If you want to come or have concerns about what the event will entail, please call Katie Martin.

Today the youth will be collecting a door offering for their Homelessness event. This money will go to the Home Sweet Home Ministries, an organization that loves and cares for the Homeless in Bloomington through the Gospel. We are still accepting clothes for our clothing drive and will be until March 16 th. Questions? Call Katie Martin.
