Truly I d love thee, Truly I d serve thee, Light of my soul, my joy, my crown. Fair are the meadows, Fair are the woodlands,
Robed in flowers of blooming spring; Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer, He makes our sorrowing spirit sing. Fair is the sunshine, Fair is the moonlight, Bright the sparkling stars on high; Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer Than all the angels in the sky. Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations, Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor, praise, adoration Now and forevermore be thine! In the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen O Lord, open Thou my lips. And My mouth shall show forth Thy Praise. We brought nothing into this world and it s certain that we shall carry nothing out. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away: Blessed be the name of the Lord. O death, where is thy sting! O grave, where is thy victory. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be forever and ever. Amen. 2
Ray was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Our gracious Father adopted him as His own child, washed his sins away, put His name on Ray, and gave him the new birth of water and of the Spirit as the words and promises of God declare. Amen! Thanks be to God! In Holy Baptism, Ray was clothed with the robe of Christ's perfect righteousness that covered over all sin. St. Paul says: "Do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection." Romans 6:3-5 In Holy Baptism we are forgiven our sins and granted a new life in Christ, our Lord. We solemnly renounce the devil and all his works and all his ways; we confess the gift of faith in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. PSALM 23 & Psalm 46 COLLECT The Lord be with you. And with your Spirit. Let us pray to the Lord. Lord God, Creator of heaven and earth, the Giver 3

That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost but now am found, Was blind but now I see! The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures. Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come; His grace has brought me safe so far, His grace will see me home. Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail And mortal life shall cease, Amazing grace shall then prevail In heaven s joy and peace. SERMON I Have Called You by Name, You are Mine Isaiah 43:1 God has made us his people through our Baptism into Christ. Living together in trust and hope, we confess our faith with all the saints. I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, Born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father 7
Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, The Holy Christian Church, The Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, The resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen PRAYER Dear Jesus, You also wept in the presence of death. We pray for the family of Ray. Surround Ray s family, especially Keith, Steve and Annette, Lanna, Anissa, and Levi with Your compassionate love and comfort. Give them a deep peace and quiet joy that rest on the sure and certain promise of resurrection and reunion. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. We give thanks, dear Father for Ray and for all You have given us through him. Bless all his friends and family here present with saving faith. Keep them safe, we pray, from all harm and danger, from sin and every evil. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. O God the Holy Spirit, show us the mountain of hope---the mountain of the cross of Christ. Strengthen our faith with Your Word and Sacraments that we may join those who have overcome all tribulations and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Keep us faithful as we await the heavenly reunion with Jesus Christ and this loved one. Lord, in Your mercy, 8
hear our prayer. Amen. Lord, remember us in Your kingdom, and teach us to pray: LORD S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. HYMN How Great Thou Art Tune: O Store Gud O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Refrain: Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art! 9
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander, And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees. When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze. Refrain And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing; Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin. Refrain When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"
