St. Nectarios PC arish ouncil To our St. Nectarios Stewards and Friends: Happy New Year-- Here's to 2017! As we think of our New Year's resolutions, think of your faith and your spiritual home, St. Nectarios. It is always there for you, to support and guide you throughout your life. On Saturday evening January 14, our networking ministry plans a wine tasting in the church atrium. This is a great opportunity to bring new members and friends to connect with others at St. Nectarios. We had a wonderful new outreach for those less fortunate: Greekfest for Christmas by our Greekfest Chair Mike Sakelaris just before the holidays. We hope to make it a yearly event, and experience the joy of giving. Our community does private philanthropy for those in need, and through Philoptochos serves the poor monthly. Many charities are supported through St. Nectarios. A special thank you to our ways and means committee and office staff for completing the prayer path on our new land-dress properly, it's a winter wonderland out there! Father Peter blessed the land last week just in time for Christmas! Did you know? --- We passed a flat stewardship rate with a $120,000 deficit for the church. When asked for feedback on how to close that deficit, we did not get many comments. We suggested stewardship increase, GROOM(get rid of our mortgage) contributions, and land sale/usage. Perhaps you are shy. Please give your comments to parish council. This is our community, and we all need to care for it. Experience the Joy of Giving this season and don't forget St. Nectarios, your church community. Hear about our Vision To understand, practice and proclaim the Orthodox Faith and to make the Church the center of family life. Our Mission is to engage our Faithful through our Ministries and Outreach programs. We are so fortunate to have St. Nectarios as our spiritual home, led by Father Peter. The more you get involved, the more you can experience The Vision, the joy of faith with family and friends. With Sincere Appreciation of the Faith we Share, Dr. Jeanne Novas-Busano Parish Council President
