2 OUR LADY S MESSAGE To the World Given 25th June 2015 to Marija Pavlovic D ear children! Also today the Most High gives me the grace to be able to love you and to call you to conversion. Little children, may God be your tomorrow and not war and lack of peace; not sorrow but joy and peace must begin to reign in the heart of every person - but without God you will never find peace. Therefore, little children, return to God and to prayer so that your heart may sing with joy. I am with you and I love you with immeasurable love. Thank you for having responded to my call. Fr. Martin Morris s Reflection Spiritual Director of Medjugorje Centre NE Brothers and Sisters of Medjugorje North East and beyond, recently we celebrated the beautiful Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. It struck me during the first reading at Mass that day, the basic attitude of the first Christian Community when the apostle Peter was in prison. (Acts:12:4) St. Peter the humble fisherman of Galilee, the first Pope, leader of the early Christian Community is sent to prison for his preaching that Jesus is risen. The words that struck me forcefully were, All the time Peter was under guard the Church prayed unremittingly to God. (Acts:12:5) When the first Christian Community is confronted by dangers, difficulties and threats it does not organise meetings to resolve how to react, or find strategies to defend itself, or what plans to adopt; when they are put to the test the whole Church starts to pray Unremittingly. They make contact with God with a united, unanimous prayer which reacts to the persecution because of Jesus. Their unity is not threatened but rather strengthened because they are sustained by unremitting prayer. This example of persevering prayer is an example to all Christians in every generation of our response to trials and persecution, to trust like Jesus in Gethsemane in persevering prayer. What were they praying for whilst St. Peter was in prison?
3 His safety? Maybe. His freedom? Maybe. But foremost they were praying for strength of Faith, i.e. their own faith and St. Peter s faith that they might continue to proclaim Jesus name with boldness. They were praying for the courage of Faith. For thirty four years now Our Blessed Mother Queen and Mother of Peace has been with us. Every word she has spoken, every message transmitted, every reflection shared has included the word, Prayer. I remember listening to Fr. Jozo Zovko on the Priests retreat in the year 2000. He said Medjugorje cannot be explained by investigations, inquiries or even science. It can only be resolved in the human heart, for Medjugorje is Mystery, it is Prayer. In this month s message Mary reminds again that prayer is the Key for God to reign in every heart. It is a very simple message, ordinary but profound. Mary wants our happiness. So that your hearts may sing with Joy. Without God there can be no real happiness, or a better tomorrow. Mary is showing the way back to truth which begins in prayer, and bears the fruit of peace. The prophet Jeremiah spoke to the people of Israel similarly, My plans for you are peace and not disaster. (Jer: 29:11) Little Children, May God be your tomorrow, and not war and lack of peace. Every day we see the lack of peace in so many places, but peace really does have its beginnings in the human heart. That is why Mary emphasises prayer. Because the one who prays is peaceful and they make others feel peace. God is Peace. We see in our broken society a lack of Joy, so many people living in sadness and anxiety without the light. Little Children may God be your tomorrow and not war and lack of peace. Mary is telling us that tomorrow can be better than today, because we must have Christian Hope. The fruit of Prayer is peace, and the fruit of peace is Joy. This means to decide for prayer and to open our hearts to God who can fill us with his peace and joy. My peace I leave you, a peace the world cannot give, that is my gift to you. (John: 14;27 ) Our desire to have peace, and to live peace in our families, communities and in the world is not possible without the first step for peace- to be at peace with Jesus, then his peace begins to take root in us. Without God you will never find peace. To become peace where there is no peace, this is Mary s prayer. Brothers and Sisters let us recall once more in the history of Our Lady s apparitions at Medjugorje,
4 one that stands out, was beautiful and extraordinary. It happened on Christmas day 2012. Our Lady came to Maria Pavlovic Lunetti, she did not speak at all. According to Maria The Virgin came carrying the Christ Child in her arms. The Christ child spoke. Pray, fast and confess regularly. If receiving my Son in the Eucharist is the centre of your life, then do not be afraid, you can do everything. June 2, 2012 THE FIVE STONES OF MEDJUGORJE I am your peace, live my commandments. I desire to work through you, my children, my apostles, so that, in the end, I may gather all my children there where everything is prepared for your happiness. I am praying for you, that through works you can convert others, because the time has come for acts of truth, for my Son. My love will work in you - I will make use of you. Have trust in me, because everything that I desire, I desire for your good, the eternal good created by the Heavenly Father. You, my children, my apostles, are living an earthly life in union with my children who have not come to know the love of my Son, who do not call me 'mother' - but do not be afraid to witness Truth. If you are not afraid and witness courageously, the truth will miraculously win, but remember, strength is in love. My children, love is repentance, forgiveness, prayer, sacrifice and mercy. If you will know how to love, by your works you will convert others, you will enable the light of my Son to penetrate into souls. Thank you. Pray for your shepherds. They belong to my Son. He called them. Pray that they may always have the strength and the courage to shine with the light of my Son.
5 REPORT FROM SISTER EMMANUEL of The Community of The Beatitudes www.childrenofmedjugorje.com June 17, 2015 Dear Children of Medjugorje, praised be Jesus and Mary! 1. June 2, 2015 Mirjana received her monthly apparition at the Blue Cross in the presence of a very large crowd. 2. Crippled and handicapped pilgrims, welcome! For 3 years in a row in Medjugorje, the people of the village welcomed pilgrims with disabilities to their pansions for free! The initiative comes from the Franciscans as a beautiful sign of active and fraternal charity. Saint Francis was surely delighted to see it all from heaven! 3. Alcohol and Gambling. Lynda, from Scotland, shared a powerful event that occurred in her family, specifically with her brother Patrick who was heavily involved in drinking and gambling. Here is her story: "My brother was the youngest in the family. Growing up he was a very good child. He was obedient and quiet but at the same time, full of fun. When he was 18 he went to college to train to be a medical doctor. He joined all the social groups and clubs that were available and partied with the best of them! He was really 'living it up'. He was drinking heavily and also got involved in gambling. He qualified as a doctor and started working, but his career was not progressing. My family and I were very concerned about him and the amount of gambling he was doing. He had become seriously addicted. We tried talking to him, especially me in particular as I am his only sister and also his Godmother. I used to spend a lot of time visiting him at his apartment helping him to sort out his finances, manage his money and essentially get him back on the 'straight and narrow', but unfortunately it wasn't working. My mother was very worried about him and so we both decided to go to Medjugorje in October of 2012. We were walking to Fr Slavko's grave when my mother said to me "Look! There's Sister Emmanuel over there, I want to go and ask her to pray for Patrick." She went over to her and asked her to pray. Sr Emmanuel responded by saying, "What does Our Lady ask?", and my mother re-
6 plied, "prayer and fasting". Sr Emmanuel told her that in order to win such a war, she should do her whole part and not just half, she should pray AND fast for her son and God would do the rest. Our Lady said, 'Through prayer and fasting, you can obtain everything!' When my mother told me what Sr Emmanuel had said, my reaction was, 'Thank God it wasn't me whom she said that to!'. However, when we returned home, as well as praying for my brother, we also started to fast on bread and water on Wednesdays and Fridays for him. Then we really saw a miracle happening. That was two years ago and my brother completely stopped gambling. He is totally debt free! He has progressed a lot in his career, he's highly thought of as a doctor, and he has joined a team so that he can advance his career even further. Now he very rarely drinks alcohol - he may have a drink every now and again, but that is it. He's living a very good life, and has a lovely girlfriend. It was once we started to pray and fast that we really saw the miracle happening. Trying to talk to him before was like banging my head against a brick wall. Fasting had the power to break something within him that my family and I couldn't break through simple talking and prayer. Fasting was needed too. My brother grew up in a house of faith and love, but despite this, more was needed, and that was the power of both prayer AND fasting." Lynda's testimony speaks to the hearts of many because the rate of addiction is massively increasing in today's world. Alcohol, drugs of all kinds, wrong sexual practices, gambling, etc. are destroying so many families. If someone is not convinced by Jesus' words or Mary's messages about prayer and fasting, let him try it anyway; he has nothing to lose, but has a lot to gain! 4. The Pope in Sarajevo! The whole day of June 6th was very moving. Pope Francis had great success according to the thousands of people who came to hear him. More than 70, 000 participants showed up in a country where the majority of people are Muslim! His message concerned peace, a reality that is mostly absent in this country. He made it clear, "Jesus did not say 'Blessed are those who talk about peace', but 'Blessed are the peacemakers!'" In the plane, on the way back to Rome, the Pope responded to a journalist who had asked about Medjugorje. Pope Francis stated that he had received the conclusions of the Commission on Medjugorje and that, "We are about to take some decisions and these will then be communicated." 5. On June 22nd from 3PM-4PM EST (9-10PM Medjugorje time) I'll be interviewed during a live with Kathie Duggan on Radio Maria US. Each year we have this little radio interview before the anniversary.

During a homily on June 9th at Casa Santa Marta, the Pope warned of a "somewhat ethereal Christian spirituality," that caters to "those who are always in need of something new in the Christian identity." He further wondered out loud, "where are these visionaries who are telling us today about the letters that the Madonna sends at 4 pm? They make a living with it. That is not the Christian identity." Several media outlets have surmised that Pope Francis implicated Our Lady's messages and the visionaries in Medjugorje when he made these remarks. Yet, if he said while leaving Sarajevo, "we'll make a decision," then he would not give a clearly negative statement on Medjugorje before the official word. In addition, Our Lady does not come every day to give a message for the world. Rather, she comes on the 25th and the 2nd of the month, at different times, and not at 4pm. Really, no confusion exists, unless it has been created by the media and their wrong interpretation of Pope Francis's words on the visionaries and messages, Pope Francis could not have intended Medjugorje when he made his remarks at Casa Santa Marta. However, he was fully right when he stated how wrong it is to run after visionaries. Here in Medjugorje, Our Lady teaches us to run after Jesus! And her point is for us to LIVE the messages, not to focus on the instruments giving them. To do otherwise would be a terrible deviation from God's intended goal when He allows Our Lady to appear to us, in the world. If we ran after visionaries instead of Jesus, we would simply miss the grace God offers us in this time of mercy. Having one's picture taken next to a visionary is nice, but it is not a passport to Heaven! 7. I'm coming to the United States! With great joy I will resume my missions in the US.It will also be an opportunity for me to announce my latest book: Peace Will Have the Last Word. 8 The Medjugorje Story I have come to tell you God exists On June 24, 1981, six children in the town of Medjugorje, Yugoslavia ( today, Bosnia-Herzegovina ), began to experience apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She spoke to them giving a message of peace for the world, as well as a call to conversion, prayer and fasting. The children (known as visionaries), Ivanka Ivankovic, Mirjana Dragicevic, Vicka Ivankovic, Marija Pavlovic, Ivan Dragicevic and Jakov Colo described Our Lady as beautiful beyond any human description. These first apparitions took place on a hill behind the village called Podbrdo (Apparition Hill) and on the day of the Feast of St. John the Baptist. Our Lady has entrusted to the visionaries secret messages about future events that will occur in the world. The secrets, confided individually to different visionaries, have not been revealed to the public and are not generally spoken about, however there will be a permanent sign given which will be left at the site of the first apparition for the whole world to see. Three of the visionaries Jakov, Mirjana and Ivanka have received all ten secrets, while Marija, Ivan and Vicka have each received nine. Our Lady, who calls herself the Queen of Peace appears to these three visionaries daily at 6:40pm wherever they happen to be at the time. On the 25th of every month Our Lady gives a message intended for the whole world. This message is given to Marija. The other three visionaries Jakov, Mirjana and Ivanka only see Our Lady once a year now. Their daily apparitions ceased once she had confided all ten secrets to them. Jakov sees Our Lady on Christmas Day, Ivanka on June 25th, the anniversary of the apparitions. This date was chosen as the anniversary date of the apparitions since it was the first day Our Lady spoke to the children. Mirjana sees Our Lady on her birthday, March 18th. Our Lady has also been appearing to Mirjana on the 2nd of each month since August 2, 1987. The news that Our Lady might be appearing immediately began to attract pilgrims to Medjugorje, first from the surrounding countryside, and then, despite the communist government of that day, from Europe and the whole world. Since the apparitions began in 1981, millions of people of all faiths, from all over the world, including clergy and theologians have visited Medjugorje and have left spiritually strengthened and renewed. The appearances of Our Lady Queen of Peace have been accompanied by many miracles in the form of healings (of mind, body and soul), supernatural visual events, and deep conversions back to God. Our Lady s messages tell each one of us God wants to renew our hearts with his Spirit of Love to change the world, one heart at a time. Our Lady loves and knows each one of us for she is our mother in heaven. She carries each of us in her heart and says, If you knew how much I loved you, you would cry for joy. Her appearances and messages give us all great hope in this time of Grace.
9 The 34 th Anniversary of The Apparitions in Medjugorje Celebrated at St. Andrews, Newcastle ( by Marian, Medjugorje Centre NE) Medjugorje remains Uncontaminated. We celebrated the 34th anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions in Medjugorje, at St Andrew's Church in Newcastle led by Fr Michael Corbett. Our evening began with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament accompanied by music, we know so well from Medjugorje, playing in the background. The peace found in the presence of Jesus engulfed us all as we prayed the rosary before mass began. Many friends of Medjugorje attended the celebrations, it was wonderful to be joined together in the celebration of Holy Mass. We experienced a very beautiful mass and in his homily, Fr Michael talked of Our Lady and the apostles being joined together in continuous prayer following the deaths of Jesus and how Jesus presented his mother to John to be his mother and our mother. Mary was very much involved in the life of Jesus, in her apparitions she is always pointing us towards Her Son. She recommends Prayer, Fasting, Reading the Scriptures to get to know Her Son better, Confession and the Eucharist. Although, no decision has yet been made by the papal commission about Medjugorje, all the gospel values are to be found there, and this is Mary's vision and mission for us. "The hand does not reach out to the heart that does not long for him". Fr Michael told us how impressed he was by the millions who have travelled to Medjugorje. He said there are no gimmicks to be found in Medjugorje only a sense of peace, particularly at evening adoration among the thousands of pilgrims who want the same thing - peace. The witness of prayer and confession every evening in the 54 confessionals, as well as the many priests hearing confession on benches under trees was very powerful. Fr. Michael said: Medjugorje remains uncontaminated, it does not have any big churches or basilicas, only pure simplicity with the beauty of the mountains and hills in the background. Fr Michael talked of the many positive signs in Medjugorje, the good fruits and many deep personal conversions which all make it a very holy place. Our Lady s monthly messages are echoes of the gospel and contain nothing new but, like many mothers, in her messages she repeats and reminds us of what we have forgotten - love and forgiveness. We thank Fr Michael for his warm welcome and his true witness to Medjugorje in this beautiful evening of celebrations. Medjugorje Centre NE ANNUAL APPARITION TO THE VISIONARY IVANKA 25th June 2015 www.medjugorje.com The visionary Ivanka Ivankovic-Elez received her regular annual apparition on June 25th 2015. At her last daily apparition on May 7, 1985, Our Lady confided to Ivanka the 10th secret and told her that she would have an apparition once a year on the anniversary of the apparitions. It was that way also this year. The apparition, which lasted 4 minutes, took place at Ivanka s family home. Only Ivanka s family was present at the apparition. After the apparition, Ivanka said: Our Lady gave us her motherly blessing and said: Peace, peace, peace. The following is an excerpt from, Our Lady Says: Monthly Confession Remedy for the West, by Fr. Albert J.M. Shamon. ( Spirit of Medjugorje ) It is sad to see how many shrug off private revelation, simply because it is private. Private revelation is never new revelation, but only a reaffirmation of some truth or truths of public revelation either forgotten or neglected, but of critical importance for the age in which it is revealed. Apparitions are needed by the Church, just as they were in the gospels. The Annunciations of Zechariah and to Mary were apparitions; The Forty Days appearances of the Risen Jesus to His Mother and the apostles were apparitions. Apparitions are homilies from Heaven [editor emphasis]. The Holy Spirit picks out of the smorgasbord of public revelation those truths that are needed for the nourishment of the Church in some particular moment of history. Medjugorje, June 29, 2015 Dear brothers and sisters, peace! 11 Medjugorje is NOT Prohibited by The Church appointed for this purpose: Father Lombardi. Whoever is looking for a recent statement from him regarding the position of the Holy See on Medjugorje will not find one! Whoever is searching the Vatican website on the subject will find nothing, not a thing. As you can guess, we are receiving a lot of questions about the position of the Church regarding the apparitions of Our Lady in Medjugorje. Once more, we are facing a modern disease - to read, comment and become passionate about media statements when its first goal is not always to convey the truth. Many in the media are pushing their own position with a great deal of noise. Of course one may express a personal opinion on the subject, and slip in snippets of the truth. But whoever wishes to be informed about the truth of an important matter can do it in a way that is secure and that heals the confusion, disorder, doubt, bitterness, rebellion, or even triumphant satisfaction which does not necessarily come from the Holy Spirit. The way to do this is easy: just go to the source of the information! And the only source of information from the Holy See is the spokesman What does this mean? The media virus has struck once again, sowing turmoil in many hearts with all its contradictions. The truth is that neither the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (the CDF), nor the Pope have issued an official statement about Medjugorje. They have not even held a meeting to address the subject together. In addition, no meeting has been scheduled during the summer. It is also very likely that the theme of the family - the great theme of the year - will take precedence over the Medjugorje issue. So, let's be patient! All those who have experienced many graces in Medjugorje and who have wholeheartedly followed the school of the Queen of Peace should be reassured, because today we can state the following: Medjugorje is not forbidden by the Church. The Pope has not yet taken a stand on Medjugorje. Everyone can travel there in private pilgrimage without disobeying the Church.
12 The messages are not prohibited, everyone can disseminate them and especially live them. The visionaries have not been declared to be false. The Holy Father carries a great responsibility, because the final word will depend on him. We know that Cardinal Müller, Prefect of the CDF, has sometimes expressed negative statements regarding Medjugorje. That is why, in this time of grace and struggle, we need to pray a lot to the Holy Spirit for the Holy Father, and also fast for him. May the will of God be fulfilled! Whatever position Rome will express through official channels, we will obey it. Obedience will be the best sign that we are walking with the Queen of Peace, with the Church and not without the Church. Mary is relying on us to help her fully realize her plans. Because, let us not forget: "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph." Sr. Emmanuel + Pope Francis Comments on Medjugorje Commission They Did a Fine Job ( Crownofstars ) Journalist Andrea Tornielli (Vatican Insider) has filed a report saying that Pope Francis was asked about Medjugorje during a press conference on the return flight from his Apostolic Visit to Sarajevo and Bosnia Herzegovina. The Vatican website also issued translations in five languages (English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish) and subsequently deleted them. Below is the English translation before deletion from the Vatican website now circulating on Twitter. Question: There is a big interest surrounding the phenomenon of the Medjugorje apparitions. What can you tell us about this? Pope Francis Answer: In regard to the issue of Medjugorje, Pope Benedict XVI at the time convened a committee presided over by Cardinal Camilo Ruini; there were other Cardinals, theologians and specialists on the committee as well. They did an investigation and Cardinal Ruini came to me and gave me the study they did, after many years of labour, I don t know, maybe three or four years, more or less. They did a fine job, a fine job indeed. Cardinal Müuller (Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) told me that he would be having a feria quarta (a meeting dedicated to this specific question) at the right time; I think it was done on the last Wednesday of the month. But I am not sure... We are close to coming to a decision. And then the results will be communicated. For the moment, all that is being done is to give guidelines to the Bishops. Thank you!
Pope Francis celebrated Mass in a stadium in front of tens of thousands of people He gives a message of global peace, saying Sarajevo knows too well the pain of war His daylong visit includes meetings with the Bosnia- Herzegovina presidency and religious leaders 13 Pope Francis brought a message of Peace to Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina (CNN) Pope Francis brought a message of peace and reconciliation as he visited the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo on Saturday 6 th June 2015, in his latest trip to a country with a large Muslim population. The daylong visit included a meeting with the members of the Bosnia-Herzegovina presidency at the presidential palace, and an open-air Mass at a stadium which tens of thousands of joyful worshipers attended. Bosnia has faced past tensions among Muslims, Catholics and Orthodox Christians. Two decades ago, ethnic and religious hatred raged during the nearly four-year siege of Sarajevo in the 1990s. Up to 150,000 are estimated to have died in the war, many of them in ethnic cleansing, a term first coined in the Bosnian conflict. The Pope was greeted with cheers and applause as he moved through the crowds at the stadium in an open-sided "popemobile" ahead of the Mass. In his homily, he spoke of the suffering, misery and destruction brought by war -- and urged all those there to work toward peace, despite the efforts of those who seek to foster conflict for their own gains. "Even in our time, the desire for peace and the commitment to build peace collide against the reality of many armed conflicts presently affecting our world," he said. "They are a kind of third world war being fought piecemeal, in the context of global communications, we sense an atmosphere of war." The people of Sarajevo know well what pain war can bring, he said. "Today, dear brothers and sisters, the cry of God's people goes up once again from this city, the cry of all men and women of good will: war never again!"
