This year, we continue to offer your children a well-rounded, integrated curriculum, which includes Hebrew, prayer & spirituality, Torah, history, Israel, Jewish Values, and Jewish identity. We teach these subjects through engaging, hands-on experiences, including art, music, dance, and drama. Throughout the year, we will also enjoy special events and holiday programs. Please make note of our Talmud Torah schedule: Grades pre-k - 1: Sundays, 9:30-12:30 Grades 2-6: Sundays, 9:30-12:30, and Wednesdays, 4:15-6:00 Grade 7: Sundays, 9:30-12:30, and Fridays, 5:00-7:00, when Beth El has Friday evening services. (Services are included in this time period.) In addition to these times, we are offering an optional extra weekly tutoring session for 3rd-5th graders, or 6th graders who have not yet begun Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring classes. Tutoring classes are on Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00 pm. Please sign up if you would like to participate. There is a 5-student minimum for this class. In order to continue our successful program, we rely on parent involvement - I hope we can count on you! We ask you to support us in these ways: - Volunteer. Please consider either being a class parent, or helping fill some of our many of our volunteer needs. We hope you will sign up for at least 3 of the options listed on our attached volunteer form. - Participate. We ask parents to join us for several activities throughout the year, including a meet-theteachers open house, grade-level special programs, grade-level Friday night services, and various family events. - Support our fundraisers. Tuition covers less than half of the cost for educating our children. Funds from our Apples and Honey Brunch, the Harris Teeter TIE program, the Purim Carnival, and Passover candy sales go directly to help with these costs. - Encourage involvement. We hope that your child will participate in the different options available to him/her, including youth groups, children's services, and family holiday programs. A strong connection to Beth El and Beth El programming will help reinforce what your child learns in Talmud Torah.

August 1: First day to link your Harris Teeter VIC card to their TIE (Together in Education) program for the 2013-2014 school year. Just ask to link Beth El's account number, 5883, to your Harris Teeter VIC card. 2% of all Harris Teeter brand purchases will be donated to Talmud Torah. August 25: Annual Family Fun Day. Join us on this Sunday morning, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm. With lunch, a social action project, a Sisterhood activity, and activities for children of all ages, it should be a wonderful day. September 8: First Day of Talmud Torah. Registration forms must be submitted for your child to attend. September 15: Apples and Honey Brunch fundraiser. Registration for the Community Midrasha (Grades 8-12) is handled separately. Beth El Talmud Torah Tuition Your child's Talmud Torah education is largely financed by Beth El Synagogue. Your tuition dollars help cover costs, including reading materials, supplies, and snacks. For an additional $36, Talmud Torah is offering an extra weekly session of Hebrew tutoring for 3rd-5th graders, or 6th graders who have not yet begun Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring classes. If you are interested in this option, please sign up below. This extra tutoring session will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00 pm, throughout the school year.
