Dear John Letter Goodbye Letter:

THE MOUNTAIN As I begin the journey, to start anew, I must never forget who I am, and what brought me here too. For life is an adventure, but the hike begins now, Because there is nowhere else to go, except high up into the clouds. I have seen my ugly side and stood face to face with my inner-self, Although, I know the challenge begins now, I must never be afraid o ask for help. I have hit hock bottom, and been disgusted by the result, But the selfish phase is over with, no more time to sulk. I am gathering the equipment I need, to conquer this rock, So I look around, I know the only place I can go is up. But I will only tumble to the bottom if I take a drink, from the cup. It will bring back the person, that I want to leave behind, The person who knew so little about herself, except how to drink wine. The struggle will be over, and my life will then begin, So the hike has begin, whether I want it to or not, I look forward to the day that I will finish at the top.

Dear John, See Addict in Me There is a truth to be told. One that I do not wish to hide from you. I have found a new love, a love that eclipses any feeling you falsely gave me. Please understand this is not out of resentment, but rather a Y in the road of life. I am choosing to walk into the sunset, instead of under our black cloud. No longer will I allow you to pin me under your thumb. The lie you told me hurt, yet I still listened. Goodbye old friend, Christian

Dear Alcohol What can I say? You have been with me for over half of my life, alcohol. You were my first and last love before I came to treatment. You introduced me to a side of myself that should never have been woken up. I don t think you did that to me on purpose though. How could you have known I was an alcohol. By the time you knew, I was already inviting you into my life with wide open arms. You were my liquid courage. and numb negative feelings. You took my pain and hid my fear. I did not know I could do it without you. But I have found a new High! It is called God! My family! And a Real Life! Sorry it s gotta be this way, my old friend, but I am tired of drowning. A new girl in town---sally

Dry Relapse Intervention Plan Date: Dear (Significant Other) Since chemical dependency is a disease, which sometimes results in relapse, it is wise that I consider an intervention plan. Relapse is a process, not an event. It is a domino effect. It begins when I begin to be preoccupied with using or drinking. I am constructing this plan while I am sober and rational. My plan is to stop the problem while it is still a dry relapse. Please don t be fooled by my denial. If I am in relapse (even dry relapse), I may make many false statements and deny the problem, my disease will be active again. Please be assured that these are the actions I want you to take. The plan below is the course that may save my life. Signature My warning signs of trouble that predict a relapse is on the way may look like this: 1. 2. This is the intervention I want you to take: 1. 2. Thanks for helping me.

A. A. Thought for the Day In A. A. we find fellowship and release and strength. And having found these things, the real reasons for our drinking are taken away. Then drinking has no more justification in our minds. We no longer need to fight against drink. Drink just naturally leaves us. At first, we are sorry that we can t drink, but we get so that we don t have to drink. Am I glad that I don t have to drink? Meditation for the Day Try never to judge. The human mind is so delicate and so complex that only its Maker can know it wholly. Each mind is so different, actuated by such different motives, controlled by such different circumstances, influenced by such different sufferings, you cannot know all the influences that have gone to make up a personality. Therefore, it is impossible for you to judge wholly ad He can change it. Leave to God the unraveling of the puzzles of personality. And leave it to God to teach you the proper understanding. PRAYER FOR THE DAY I pray that I may not judge other people. I pray that I may be certain that God can set right what is wrong in every personality.
