We welcome, serve, and educate.

Dear Parishioners, In the parable of this Sunday, the king invites guests to the wedding banquet. Those who were invited refused to come to the wedding feast. So, the king sent out his servants to invite everyone they could find to take part in the wedding banquet. Through this parable, Jesus was speaking about his own mission. Many of the Jews rejected him and thus refused his invitation. Jesus, then began to invite the outcasts of the society, the tax collectors, the sinners and the gentiles. Invitation to the eternal banquet is offered to every person. But, God gives us the freedom to accept or reject his invitation. Yours Sincerely, Fr. Jose Shaji Liturgical Ministry Formation/Training Saint Anselm (for all of Marin) November 11-10am 3pm November 18-10am 12pm The Office of Worship offers six hour formation sessions for new and experienced Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Readers. In the morning of the first Saturday, ministers are introduced to sacramental theology, particularly that of the Eucharist by Rev. David Pettingill. Next, our presenters who are experts in the field, offer technical and spiritual direction for the minister s specific liturgical role. Finally, extraordinary ministers prepare for bringing Holy Communion to the sick and homebound, while readers conclude with coaching in proclamation and oral interpretation. Contact your parish to pre-register. To maximize cooperation between parishes, schools, and the Office of Worship, each participant is to have the recommendation of the Pastor or his delegate (a parochial vicar, staff member or another charged with the coordination of liturgical ministries). In order to receive a certificate of completion, ministers must attend BOTH Saturdays and will focus on one ministry at the training. Please bring your own lunch. OKTOBERFEST A huge St. Anselm THANK YOU to everyone involved with Oktoberfest organizers, workers, and guests. A great time was had by all. The decorations, as well as the live music provided by The Jolly Bavarians, created a very authentic Oktoberfest feeling. The German Fare which included Brats, sauerkraut, German potato salad, and pretzels was absolutely delicious. The Grillers did a perfect job. And of course one of the busiest areas was the bar. The German beers and wines made the Oktoberfest evening complete. Special thanks to Mike Silva, Nick Svenson, Cathy Cunningham, and Brian Blackman for their above-and-beyond commitment to making sure that the evening celebration was a success. We look forward to Oktoberfest 2018!
