Everyone (from even the highways and byways) is invited to fill up the numbers, but everyone must take a proper wedding garment. October Candles Burn for: Sanctuary Lamp: Robert J. Peloquin, by family Altar Candles: Bryan Kelley, by parents Tabernacle Candle: Diane M. Roussel, by family Crucifix Candles: Herman Costa, by granddaughter Mary Anne Life is Primary A major Vatican document reminds us that the right to life is primary: The teachings of Pope John XXIII, the Second Vatican Council, and Pope Paul VI have given abundant indication of the concept of human rights as articulated by the Magisterium. Pope John Paul II has drawn up a list of them in the Encyclical Centesimus Annus The first right presented in this list is the right to life, from conception to its natural end, which is the condition for the exercise of all other rights and, in particular, implies the illicitness of every form of procured abortion and euthanasia (Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church, Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Vatican City, 2004).
