Names of Allah AL GHAFIR, AL GHAFOOR, AL GHAFFAR CLASS 4 ALLAH AL GHAFOOR We will study all the ayat that mention Allah Al Ghafoor Surah Nahl The name of Allah Al Ghafoor Ar Raheem is mentioned three times in Surah An Nahl. Allah appreciates the bees and it s an insect which we re not allowed to kill. Bees are performing a great job in life without being rewarded; they produce honey. They re working day and night without a break. Allah inspires all the bees in the world to take a house; He inspires first to take homes in the mountains, if there are no mountains then the trees, and if not then along human homes. Allah then inspires the bees to eat from the fruits and then take the path of Allah. From their stomachs different colored liquids will come out which is the honey, in it is cure for the people. The main theme of Surah An Nahl is gratitude. We need to be so grateful to Allah because of His blessings. We need to make shuker and we need forgiveness from Allahfor not giving enough thanks. لغفور ( as You will notice when Al Ghafoor Ar Raheem is mentioned in Surah An Nahl, it s mentioned affirmation. is for ل and the (رحیم Surah Nahl Ayah 18 Ayah 4-17 There are two types of blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us 1. General Blessing 2. Specific Blessing Page 1
Here Allah is telling us about general blessing that He bestowed on his creation. Allah created us and he subjected the animals for us to carry our load. We have many benefits from the animals and also eat from them. Allah sends the rain for us which enables the earth to grow different vegetation crops, olives, the different types of fruits. Allah subjected the day and night for us. Allah subjected the sea for us in order for us to able to swim and also the ships are able to sail in the sea. Allah made the mountains as an anchor as a blessing for us without which we will all be shaking. Allah made the stars as a blessing in order to guide us. Then in Ayah 17 Allah is asking us if the one who did not create similar to the one who did not create. Ayah 18 In the Ayah 18 Allah tells us that if we were to try and count the blessings of Allah then we will not be able to encompass. We are weak and are not able to encompass the blessings of Allah. We don t appreciate the sun, the moon because we take it for granted. Allah has subject all the creation to serve us so we are able to worship Allah. The humans enjoy all the blessings that have been bestowed by Allah and yet the human is not grateful. Allah is all forgiving and the most merciful. The laam here is for emphasis. Allah accepts little gratitude from us. To be grateful is far more difficult than to be patient. When one is blessed with favors of Allah then it is easy for him to forget. Allah is saying He will accept a little gratitude and He will forgive us. At the same time Allah will have mercy on us. Surah Nahl Ayah 110 Here Allah is telling us about the blessing of guidance which is a bigger blessing than the worldly blessings. The main blessing is the blessing of faith. Nothing can compare with the blessing of religion. The people who prefer Duniya over hereafter reject the blessing of Faith; Allah tells us these people are kafireen as they don t appreciate the blessing of religion. There are heedless and there is no doubt that they are losers. Allah wants to save us from Hellfire but these people want the Duniya. Ayah 110 Page 2
Here Allah is telling us about the grateful ones. Gratitude is not just a word but we have to show by our actions. When Allah guide us to be a muslim then that is the biggest blessing. The people who are grateful for faith did the following actions: 1. They migrated: They left the disobedience to obedience, from bad habits to good habit, from the disbelieving country to believing country. If we appreciate religion then we will make hijrah i.e. migrate from the things we are familiar with for the sake of Allah. Hijrah shows gratitude. 2. They did Jihad They people who do Hijrah then have to struggle. The struggle shows gratitude. The jihad is to fight our Nafs and the Shaitaan. We strive to worship Allah. 3. They were patient We need patience in all the stages while doing Hijrah and also while striving to worship Allah. Being patient means we do not complain. We should not complain or blame why we have to struggle. We are dealing with Allah who is all aware of what we are going through. Gratitude includes patience so we must be patient while going through the struggles of life. After all the above, Allah tells us that He will forgive the sins and be merciful for the one who migrates from disobedience to obedience and you struggle and be patient while you struggle. Surah Nahl Ayah 119 Ayah 119 Here Allah is telling us about your Rabb and your Nurturer is reforming everyone. There are people who do sins due to ignorance. If one does sins due to ignorance then the sins will decrease the faith and knowledge in the heart. Then if the person repents and reforms then Allah is most forgiving and Merciful. Page 3
The sinner has to do two things: 1. Repent: Quit the sin and you need to have regret on committing the sins. You must have the intent to not come back to the sins. 2. You need to fix what you broke. If you stole the money then you need to return it. If you backbite you need to make dua for them Then Allah will deal with you with his forgiveness and mercy. We need to appreciate that Allah is Ghafoor Ar Raheem Page 4
