State of Affairs Meeting This meeting was held during the Summer Seminar in Nicosia, on Thursday, the 10 th of June, 2010. Marko is appointed. 4) Taking down of attendance 5) Reading of the agenda 6) Passing around the minutes from GA Helsinki & 11) Approval of minutes: minutes are not completely ready and will be given in September in Sofia. 7) Upcoming events: a) Amsterdam International Conference, 22-28 August 2010, with around 2000 people participating, is a great opportunity for promoting ISHA. Some of the IB 2009/2010 and IB 2010/2011 members will be present. b) Sofia: ISHA Sofia will send a list of accepted participants soon. There have been 45 applications for 35 available places. Younger members and members from new sections will have an advantage. c) Future events: New Years' Seminar in Berlin, Germany from 27.12.2010 to 2.01.2011. Weekend Seminar in Leuven, Belgium, in February 2010. Annual Conference in Pula, Croatia, from 25.04.2011. to 1.05.2011. Summer Seminar in Rome, Italy, in July 2011. Autumn Seminar in Turku/Åbo, Finland in October 2011. New Years' Seminar in Belgrade, Serbia in December 2011/January 2012. 8) Cooperation with other organizations: a) IFISO: a meeting with IFISO will take place on July 16th. IMISO will support printing of the Carnival with 600 euros. -3-

b) Euroclio/Europaeum: The joint project "Connecting Europe Through History: Migration" continues. In Helsinki, one of it's sessions was hosted with success. c) ICHS: In late August, ISHA will be represented at the 21 st International Congress of Historical Sciences in Amsterdam. ISHA Utrecht is preparing a session for the conference. 9) State of Affairs a) International Board: Nicosia was the last ISHA event with the current board. b) The Council: Sven was present at the annual meeting of German history stundent representative bodies (BuFaTa) and held a presentation about ISHA, but there was little response. c) Treasury Committee was not present in Nicosia. d) Carnival: Copies of the Carnival were given to new observer members. Katharina Rein and Sven Mörsdof are working on a new Carnival and are searching for sponsors. They will try to finish the new issue until August and the Amsterdam International Conference. They created a successful Google discussion group about the further development of Carnival. e) Sections: Leuven nothing new in Leuven. Jan Vandeburie is trying to establish a section in Leeds, UK and took a few Carnivals to Leeds. Utrecht after the summer break ISHA Utrecht will promote itself more among new students. It is also planning to organisze activities for exchange students in Utrecht Thessaloniki Charalampos Minasidis will try to establish a section and promote ISHA. In this he has a lot of support from professors. Nijmegen seminar in Sofia is being promoted. There are new members and a new official in charge of promotion of the section. Marburg Sven and Robert will leave Marburg soon, and they are trying to get new people involved so the section doesn't die. Robert developed a poster, PowerPoint presentation and hand-outs for promotion of ISHA Marburg. -4-

Ljubljana everything is going normal in ISHA Ljubljana. History students in Maribor were contacted in an attempt to establish a section there. Berlin ISHA Berlin is organizing the New Year's Seminar (27.12-2.01.). The topic of the seminar will be Utopia. The section is also trying to get new members, since some older ones have left. Belgrade ISHA Belgrade already started preparing for the New Year's seminar 2011/2012. They started printing a journal called Historicon. Information about ISHA will be in it. Nicosia Michalis spread the word about ISHA. New members will promote ISHA even further. 10) Proposals: There is a major plan to move ISHA headquarters from Switzerland back to Belgium, where it used to be until about ten years ago. That will also make getting money from EU funds easier. The statues and standing orders of ISHA will soon undergo large changes. 11)see number 6) 12)Questions. The session was closed at 7.29 p.m. -5-
