I LOVE TO TELL THE STORY 1. I love to tell the story of unseen things above, of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love. I love to tell the story, because I know 'tis true; it satisfies my longings as nothing else can do. CHORUS: I love to tell the story, 'twill be my theme in glory, to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love. 2. I love to tell the story; 'tis pleasant to repeat what seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet. I love to tell the story, for some have never heard the message of salvation from God's own holy Word. 3. I love to tell the story, for those who know it best seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest. And when, in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song, 'twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.
IN MY HEART THERE RINGS A MELODY I have a song that Jesus gave me It was sent from heaven above; There never was a sweeter melody 'Tis a melody of love. Chorus: In my heart there rings a melody There rings a melody with heaven's harmony; In my heart there rings a melody There rings a melody of love! I love the Christ who died on Calvary For He washed my sins away; He put within my heart a melody And I know it's there to stay. Chorus 'Twill be my endless theme in glory With the angels I will sing; 'Twill be a song with glorious harmony When the courts of heaven ring. Chorus
VICTORY IN JESUS I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory, How He gave his life on Calvary to save a wretch like me; I heard about his groaning, of his precious blood s atoning, Then I repented of my sins and won the victory Chorus: O Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever! He sought me and bought me with his redeeming blood He loved me ere I knew him, and all my love is due him He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood. I heard about his healing, of his cleansing power revealing, How he made the lame to walk again, and caused the blind to see; And then I cried, Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory Chorus I heard about a mansion he has built for me in glory And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea About the angels singing and the old redemption story, And some sweet day I ll sing up there the song of victory
TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS 1. 'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, and to take him at his word; just to rest upon his promise, and to know, "Thus saith the Lord." O how sweet to trust in Jesus, just to trust his cleansing blood; and in simple faith to plunge me neath the healing, cleansing flood! 3. I'm so glad I learned to trust thee, precious Jesus, Savior, friend; and I know that thou art with me, wilt be with me to the end.
HOW GREAT THOU ART 1. O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Chorus: Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art! 2. When through the woods, and forest glades I wander, And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees. When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze. 3. And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing; Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin. 4. When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"
I STAND AMAZED IN THE PRESENCE 1. I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene, and wonder how he could love me, a sinner, condemned, unclean. CHORUS: How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be: How marvelous! How wonderful is my Savior's love for me! 2. For me it was in the garden he prayed: "Not my will, but thine." He had no tears for his own griefs, but sweat-drops of blood for mine. 3. He took my sins and my sorrows, he made them his very own; he bore the burden to Calvary, and suffered and died alone. 4. When with the ransomed in glory his face I at last shall see, 'twill be my joy through the ages to sing of his love for me.
JOYFUL, JOYFUL WE ADORE THEE 1. Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love; hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away. Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day! 2. All thy works with joy surround thee, earth and heaven reflect thy rays, stars and angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise. Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea, chanting bird and flowing fountain, call us to rejoice in thee.
3. Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blest, well-spring of the joy of living, ocean depth of happy rest! Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are thine; teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine. 4. Mortals, join the mighty chorus which the morning stars began; love divine is reigning o'er us, binding all within its span. 14 LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS 1. What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms; what a blessedness, what a peace is mine, leaning on the everlasting arms. CHORUS: Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms; leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms. 2. O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, leaning on the everlasting arms; O how bright the path grows from day to day, leaning on the everlasting arms. 3. What have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms? I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, leaning on the everlasting arms.
NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD 1. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. For my cleansing this my plea: nothing but the blood of Jesus. 3. Nothing can for sin atone: nothing but the blood of Jesus. Naught of good that I have done: nothing but the blood of Jesus. 4. This is all my hope and peace: nothing but the blood of Jesus. This is all my righteousness: nothing but the blood of Jesus.
TRUST AND OBEY 1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way! While we do his good will, he abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. CHORUS: Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. 2. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, but our toil he doth richly repay; not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross, but is blest if we trust and obey. 3. But we never can prove the delights of his love until all on the altar we lay; for the favor he shows, for the joy he bestows, are for them who will trust and obey. 4. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet, or we'll walk by his side in the way; what he says we will do, where he sends we will go; never fear, only trust and obey.
WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS 1. What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. 2. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer. 3. Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In his arms he'll take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there.
