Moving from the past to present of Israel we will visit the Taglit Innovation Center and meet with a young and inspiring entrepreneur. As the sun begins to set, we join together for Kabbalat Shabbat on the beach, followed by Shabbat welcome dinner together this evening at our hotel, in a private room with Hadassah friends old and new. Overnight in Tel Aviv Day 3: Saturday April 14, 2018: SHABBAT SHALOM! Optional Shabbat services this morning. We take a guided walk through the neighborhood of Neve Tzedek, one of the first neighborhoods built outside of Jaffa in the late 1800s. Continue along Bialik Street through part of the White City to see the Bauhaus architecture and get a glimpse into the lives of some of Tel Aviv s most significant residents of years gone by, as featured at the Gutman Museum, Bialik House, the Reuven Rubin house and the Old City Hall & Square. Return to our hotel for a guest speaker presentation. As Shabbat comes to an end, we host Havdallah on the shore of the Mediterranean. Enjoy an evening in Old Jaffa, where we walk among the many artists, vendors and cafes as we hear the history of the ancient port. Dinner on our own this evening. Optional cultural activity this evening. Overnight in Tel Aviv

Day 4: Sunday, April 15, 2018: MEIR SHFEYA AND THE GALILEE Visit Hadassah s Meir Shfeya Youth Village. Here, we meet and work with the kids and staff. Our next stop is in the beautiful European style village of Zichron Yaakov, where we stroll through the streets, browse the shops and visit the Nili Spy Museum amid the charming shops and cafes. This afternoon, we visit a Druze village and enjoy the wonderful home hospitality, including meeting a Druze soldier serving in the IDF. Enjoy a drive along the Lebanese border, stopping at Kibbutz Malkia, a strategic overlook, where we will meet with the IDF unit on the border and the kibbutz security personnel to learn about the steps they take to protect a small frontier community. We check in to our kibbutz in the Galilee and enjoy dinner together. Overnight in the Galilee Day 5: Monday, April 16, 2018: THE GOLAN AND SAFED Breakfast at our kibbutz. This morning, we set out on an exciting jeep tour through the Golan Heights, to the top of Har Bental, where we take in the views stretching far into Syria, while learning about the current political and military situation. We enjoy a chocolate workshop with one of Israel s top chocolatiers at Ein Zivan s DeKarina Chocolate Factory. Next, we cross the Galilee to visit the mystical city of Safed. Here, we visit the ancient synagogues and have time to stroll along the cobblestone streets to admire the crafts and shops in the artist s quarter. Our tour continues with a visit to a winery for a tour and wine tasting. We return to our kibbutz for a relaxing evening and dinner. Overnight in the Galilee ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 6: Tuesday, April 17, 2018: TO JERUSALEM AND EREV YOM HAZIKARON Breakfast and check out of our kibbutz. This morning, we tour the Hula Valley Nature Reserve, where millions of migrating birds come to rest and eat each year. Enjoy a surrey or golf cart ride through the heart of this beautiful nature reserve. Visit the extensive Roman ruins of Beit Shean, destroyed over 1,300 years ago by earthquake, and recently excavated and reconstructed on a massive and impressive scale. Travel via the Jordan Valley to Jerusalem, stopping atop Mount Scopus upon our arrival, where we recite a special Shehecheyanu blessing as we look out over the City of Gold for the first time. We visit the Mt. Scopus campus of the Hadassah Hospital.

Continue to Mt. Herzl, Jerusalem s military cemetery, where we pay our respects at the gravesites of Theodore Herzl, Golda Meir, Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres. We also see Remembrance Hall, Jerusalem s newest official memorial to IDF soldiers and victims of terror. Check in to our hotel and enjoy an early dinner. Later this evening, we participate in the opening ceremony of Yom Hazikaron at the Western Wall with the President of Israel, followed by the opportunity of joining the people of Jerusalem in an evening of song and stories about the fallen at Safra Square. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 7: Wednesday, April 18, 2018: YOM HAZIKARON Our morning speaker, Prof. Meron Medzini, will share with us his personal experiences working with Levi Eshkol and Golda Meir. We participate in the Yom Hazikaron ceremony at Latrun, Israel s outdoor armed corps museum. Drive along the route of the Lamed He where we take in the panoramic view over the battlefield and Latrun. Continue to Gush Etzion, an area south of Jerusalem that was destroyed in 1948. We had to withdraw from the region, but returned to rebuild after 1967. We hear the personal stories from that time of great change, as we tour the area. We continue with a geopolitical bus tour through the southern neighborhoods of Jerusalem along the security fence. This evening, we enjoy a special Yom Ha Atzmaut dinner together, followed by a Yom Ha Atzmaut party and the option to join the people of Jerusalem dancing in the streets well into the night. Day 8: Thursday, April 19, 2018: YOM HA ATZMAUT - HAG SAMEACH We begin our day with a visit to The Menachem Begin Heritage Center, a living memorial and the nation s tribute to a courageous fighter and fearless leader who worked for the freedom, future and security of the Jewish people in its own land. The Center is located on the Hinnom Ridge, overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem. Enjoy the air show over Jerusalem, commemorating Israel s 70 th birthday! We join a Yom Ha Atzmaut barbeque at a nearby park, in typical Israeli style. We enjoy a special VIP private tour of the newly renovated Israel Museum, home of the Shrine of the Book and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to explore or just relax. Dinner on own this evening.

Day 9: Friday, April 20, 2018: ESHKOL This morning, we visit the JNF/Hadassah park in the desert in Be er Sheva and plant a tree on this special day, connecting us physically and spiritually to the land of Israel. We will speak with students and teachers about their lives as we tour the Eshkol Region s Protected School. We will witness their bravery and hope, as we view the buildings which are used for both learning and shelter. We meet Yaron Bob at his workshop. Struck by the terror of shell attacks, Yaron decided to transform something horrible into something beautiful and so began his artwork, known as Rockets to Roses. This afternoon, we will feast at the Salad Trail, a unique hands-on agricultural tour, and witness how Israeli innovation is literally making the desert bloom with crops grown out of some of the most inhospitable sands imaginable. We pick and taste fruits and vegetables straight from the kibbutz and experience flying strawberries, tiny orange orchards, racing pigeons, herbal gardens and a self-picking farm. We return to Jerusalem to refresh. As the sun begins to set, we welcome Shabbat at the Western Wall with the people of Jerusalem, followed by Shabbat dinner together at our hotel. Day 10: Saturday, April 21, 2018: SHABBAT SHALOM! Optional morning Shabbat services at a synagogue of your choice. We enjoy a walking tour of HaNevi im Street uncovering the history of modern Jerusalem in the past 150 years, including architecture, art, history and stories. This evening, we join together for Havdallah with Barbara BG Goldstein on the rooftop of our hotel overlooking the Old City. Dinner on own this evening. Later tonight, we enjoy the Sound and Light show on the walls of the Old City at the Tower of David. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 11: Sunday, April 22, 2018: HOI & JERUSALEM This morning, we meet with Miriam Peretz, to hear about life as the mother of two fallen IDF soldiers and learn how she was able to make something good out of something terrible. Miriam has become a public speaker, teaching soldiers, bereaved families, parents of incoming IDF soldiers and Jews around the world about the importance of her sons giving their lives to defend Israel. We visit Ein Kerem Hadassah Hospital, where we tour the Mother and Child Pavilion. We also visit the new Sarah Wetsman tower that recently opened, featuring the most modern hospital facilities in the region, and visit the synagogue featuring the famed Chagall windows. We continue with a visit to Yad Vashem, Israel s memorial to the Holocaust, including a memorial service at the Valley of the Communities. Our next stop is at PICO, a start-up company looking into the future of Jerusalem as a cuttingedge innovation hub. Free time to relax and shop. Later this afternoon, we visit Machane Yehuda, Jerusalem s outdoor marketplace, filled with foods and spices of every variety. Together we will take part in the shuk bites program, allowing us to enjoy a varied taste of the marketplace in a fun and new way. We enjoy a farewell dinner, as we recall all that we have experienced together on our journey. This evening, we walk along the closed market, where we view the graffiti art painted on the shutters of the closed stalls. Late night transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for our flight home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 12: Monday, April 23, 2018: ARRIVAL HOME We arrive in the United States early this morning.
