Matthew 28:19-20, Matthew 22:37-40, Acts 1-8 Demographics New Hope Baptist Church is located in the greater Danbury area in southwestern Connecticut. We have a registered membership of 1000 with approximately 500 active members. Danbury is a city of 80,000 people and is surrounded by ten towns of 10,000 people each. We are 1.5 hours north of New York City, 1 hour west of Hartford, CT and 3 hours southwest of Boston, MA. The area serves as a bedroom community comprised of a number of major corporations located nearby. This corporate factor makes us a more transient congregation, but it also means that we have the privilege of serving people from all over the U.S. and the opportunity of equipping people for service in the world. History New Hope was established in Danbury, CT in 1895 and ground was broken for the construction of the present church edifice in November 1974. August 1977 marked the official occupancy of the present building with a mortgage burning ceremony on May 3, 1987. The church celebrated its 117 th church anniversary May 2012. In 2009 New Hope was significantly expanded adding seniors center, computer

Page 2 of 9 center, daycare center, new sanctuary and many other new accommodations for the members and the community. The church was expanded from 7,500 to 32,500 square feet. Ministerial Staff There are 12 ministers, of which 8 are ordained. Ministries New Hope is comprised of approximately 30 active ministries. The following is a partial list: Deacon Trustees Women and Men Ushers Outreach Music Dance Drama Missionary Seniors 65 Plus Youth Prison Mobile Food Bank Youth New Hope has an active and growing Youth department that includes a Children s Church, youth choirs and praise teams, youth ushers and trustees. Every third Sunday the 10:45 am service is designated Youth Sunday and the youth are the primary participants in the worship service.

Page 3 of 9 Community Outreach New Hope is very active in the community, with outreach programs consisting of housing of the food bank and distribution of bread and baked goods. We also host the annual Christmas Dinner for the homeless community. The church is represented on the Board of Directors of several community-based organizations. The Senior Pastor is also responsible for the overall leadership of the day-to-day operations of the church, services, ordinances, membership and promoting the spiritual interest and growth of the church. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Preach and teach the Gospel. Administer Baptist doctrine and church ordinances. Lead, disciple, and guide NHBC deacons and pastoral staff Provide leadership of the NHBC business office. Cast the vision of NHBC future. Supervise and provide guidance in all areas of Christian education and community outreach. Promote and provide leadership for committed & consistent stewardship. Serve as ex-officio member to all NHBC boards and committees. Supervise and provide guidance in all missionary endeavors. Represent NHBC in the greater Danbury area Christian and secular communities. QUALIFICATIONS Ordained Baptist minister who has thorough knowledge of all Baptist polity, doctrine and beliefs. Previous pastoral experience (senior or assistant position) Thorough knowledge of the King James Bible. Knowledge of trends in Christian education, evangelism and community outreach. Demonstrated competence in management, communications (oral and written), interpersonal relations with the congregation and the secular community. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population (racial, gender, age, cultural, socioeconomic) Exceptional standards of personal character, ethics and integrity. EDUCATION Minimum of a Masters of Divinity required COMPENSATION Competitive salary and benefit package TERM The Senior Pastor shall be hired for a full-time position and reviewed annually.
