Special: The Day of Arafah 11/9/2016 On the Day of Arafah you find the pilgrims heading to Arafah and all they are focusing on is دعاء (Supplication). The Day of Arafah is of the Greatest Days of the Dunya; it is the Day when the Mercy of Allah descends on earth. It is the day of Submission, of hope in Allah's Mercy, of the gathering of people. And this day is not limited to the pilgrims, it extends to all of us. Islam teaches us that we are one Ummah.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "ال م ؤ م ن ل ل م ؤ م ن ك ال ب ن ي ان ي ش د ب ع ض ه ب ع ض ا " "A believer to another believer is like a building whose different parts enforce each other" [Bukhari]

" مثل المؤمنين في توادهم وتراحمهم وتعاطفهم مثل الجسد إذا اشتكى منه عضو تداعى له سائر الجسد بالسهر والحمى "The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever" [Agreed upon] The Day of Arafah and the Day of Sacrifice are the peak of these 10 Days. They are one of the greatest blessings from Allah. In [14:34]: "And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them. Verily! Man is indeed an extreme wrong-doer, - a disbeliever" Islam never lets you get bored with the same routine, there is always a season that gives you a boost. In this season everyone encourages and boosts each other up. This is not just another Sunday. This day is different; We magnify this day out of Magnification of Allah. Because Allah magnifies this day.

In [22:32]: "And whosoever honours the Symbols of Allah, then it is truly from the piety of the heart." You constantly say from the 1st of Dhul-Hijjah. You are increasing in magnification of Allah. Allah is Greater than all your concerns, problems, worries. If that person is disturbing you then. Your children are worrying you, then. Allah wants the magnification and the feelings from your heart. In [22:37]: "It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him. Thus have We made them subject to you that you may magnify Allah for His Guidance to you. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad (ﷺ to the Muhsinun (doers of good)."

This is why we need to know who Allah is - the One who deserves all Love and Magnification. We need to know who the One we are going to meet one day. We need to know the One who we are invoking and supplicating to. In [59:18-24]: "O you who believe! Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him. And let every person look to what he has sent forth for the morrow, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do." "And be not like those who forgot Allah (i.e. became disobedient to Allah) and He caused them to forget their ownselves, (let them to forget to do righteous deeds). Those are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah)." "Not equal are the dwellers of the Fire and the dwellers of the Paradise. It is the dwellers of Paradise that will be successful."

"Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would surely have seen it humbling itself and rending asunder by the fear of Allah. Such are the parables which We put forward to mankind that they may reflect." "He is Allah, than Whom there is La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open). He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful." "He is Allah than Whom there is La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be

to Allah! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him." "He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." Look at the effect of the Qur'an on a mountain, which is made خا شع of rock. If Allah revealed it upon a mountain, it would be (showing humility) in feeling, and م ت صدع (renting asunder) physically. There are so many creations of Allah bowing to Him, prostrating to Him. Every day a new group of 70,000 Angels makes Tawaf around Bait Al-Ma'mur. This is how Great Allah is, and this is His Speech. All the Perfect Names of Allah point to after you magnify Allah repeatedly, after you say. In the Takbir, you say - that there is no One you attached to, out of love and magnification except Allah. If you live in life knowing Allah, who revealed laws and decrees, is so Perfect then you would not argue, object, etc. We would

listen to the commands and follow. Our Commander is One; and He is Allah. When all Muslims feel this, we will be one Ummah. But the biggest problem is when we take our God as our desires. Everyone has their own commander, so how can you expect harmony in the world?

Two incidents occurred in the past on the Day of Arafah: 1) The first and last Hajj of the Prophet ﷺ He ﷺ only performed one Hajj, and this was just before he passed away. It was reported from Umar ibn al-khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) that a Jewish man said to him, O Ameer al- Mu mineen, there is an aayah in your Book which you recite; if it had come to us Jews, we would have taken that day as an Eid (festival). Umar said, Which aayah? He said:

This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. [al-maa idah 5:3 interpretation of the meaning]. Umar said, We know on which day and in which place that was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). It was when he was standing in Arafaah on a Friday. [Agreed upon] On this day Allah perfected the Religion - no more laws on Halal and Haraam were revealed after. On this day Allah completed His favour, and this is the perfection of the Religion. He did not leave anything out in the Religion, everything is covered. That is why there is no basis for innovation in the religion; it is complete. And Allah is pleased with us to have Islam as our Religion.

2) Allah took a covenant with us while we ال س الم ع ل يه were in the loins of Adam It was reported that Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Allaah took the covenant from the loins of Adam in Na maan, i.e., Arafaah. He brought forth from his loins all his offspring and spread them before Him, then He addressed them, and said: Am I not your Lord? They said, Yes, we testify, let you should say on the Day of Resurrection: Verily, we have been unaware of this. Or lest you should say: It was only our fathers aforetime who took others as partners in worship along with Allaah, and we were (merely their) descendents after them; will You then destroy us because of the deeds of men who practised Al-Baatil (i.e., ploytheism and committing crimes and sins, invoking and worshipping others besides Allaah)? [al-a raaf 7:172-173 interpretation of the meaning].

which is atoms. We were tiny atoms taken ذرة comes from ذري ة from the loins of Adam, and Allah spoke to us. And we made a covenant with Allah - and this is the trust Allah mentioned in [33:72-73]: "Truly, We did offer AlAmanah (the trust or moral responsibility or honesty and all the duties which Allah has ordained) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it (i.e. afraid of Allah's Torment). But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results)." "So that Allah will punish the hypocrites, men and women, and the men and women who are AlMushrikun (the polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messenger Muhammad ﷺ ). And Allah will pardon (accept the repentance of) the true believers of the Islamic Monotheism, men and women. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful."

You took on this responsibility. Verses 170-174: "And (remember) when We raised the mountain over them as if it had been a canopy, and they thought that it was going to fall on them. (We said): "Hold firmly to what We have given you [i.e. the Taurat (Torah)], and remember that which is therein (act on its commandments), so that you may fear Allah and obey Him." "And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this."

Allah begins telling us about Bani Israeel and the covenant with them. Then Allah informs us of the contract with all of mankind. When you know that you have a covenant with Allah, you will take religion seriously. We do not because we do not know that we have a contract with Allah. When it comes to school and work we take it seriously, but we do not take our prayers seriously - because we do not know that we took that covenant with Allah. We are all responsible. This is the ف طرة (The Natural Disposition) - where you know you have One Creator, One Sustainer, One God. We witnessed and admitted that Allah is One. Every new born baby is born on this. It is not acceptable for you to come on the Day of Judgement, after making this covenant, with the excuse that you did not know. On top of that, Allah sent Messengers, and Books, and repeatedly sends down signs. He sent down our Religion.

"Or lest you should say: "It was only our fathers afortime who took others as partners in worship along with Allah, and we were (merely their) descendants after them; will You then destroy us because of the deeds of men who practised Al-Batil (i.e. polytheism and committing crimes and sins, invoking and worshipping others besides Allah)?" (Tafsir At-Tabari)." Nor can anyone use this excuse. No one shall bear the burdens of another. "Thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, so that they may turn (unto the truth)." This is the Day we need to renew the contract.

The Day of Arafah is Eid for Muslims means something that occurs repeatedly and has specific ع يد virtues. The celebrations in Islam are not connected with fables or desires, it is connected with worship. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Yawm Arafaah (the day of Arafaah), Yawm al-nahr (the Day of Sacrifice) and Ayyaam al-tashreeq (the 3 days following Yawm al-nahr) are Eid (festival) for us, the people of Islam. It is not allowed for those who go for Hajj to fast. They worship and remember Allah, and the time of Thuhr until Maghrib is the peak of the day.

Allah swore by the day of Arafah In [85:3]: "And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah];" Magnifying what Allah magnifies is an indication of your magnification of Allah. It was reported from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The promised day is the Day of Resurrection, the witnessed day is the Day of Arafaah, and the witnessing day is Friday. Narrated by al-tirmidhi and classed as saheeh by al-albaani.

The Best of دعاء on Day of Arafah This is the day of renewing your contract with Allah, so you say. - The Prophet ﷺ said: ق ب ل ي ل إ ل ه إ ل ا لل و ح د ه " خ ي ر الد ع اء د ع اء ي و م ع ر ف ة و خ ي ر م ا ق ل ت أ ن ا و الن ب ي ون م ن ل ش ر يك ل ه ل ه ال م ل ك و ل ه ال ح م د و ه و ع ل ى ك ل ش ي ء ق د ير " The best of supplication is the supplication of the Day of `Arafah. And the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the Praise, and He is powerful over all things. (Lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul- ḥamdu, wa huwa `alā kulli shai in qadīr). [At-Tirmithi] Perfect your relationship with Allah. You are amongst people but it is just you and Allah.

This is called a دعاء (supplication) There is no day where Allah frees more people from the Hellfire It was narrated from Aa ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There is no day on which Allaah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafaah.

Allah expresses His pride to the Angels "... He comes close and expresses His pride to the angels, saying, What do these people want? [Muslim] Although Allah comes down, nothing is above Him. And when Allah comes there is a time of responding to s 'دعاء - from Thuhr until Maghrib. It was reported from Ibn Umar that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Allaah expresses His pride to His angels at the time of Ishaa on the Day of Arafaah, about the people of Arafaah. He says, Look at My slaves who have come unkempt and dusty. [Ahmad] Be broken before Allah, admit your sins, ask Him to forgive you. You have no where to run to except Allah. Do Tawaf around the pleasure of Allah. Because. Gather your heart - Make your Goal one. What will help you gather your heart? "O mankind! Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him! Verily, the earthquake of the Hour (of Judgement) is a terrible thing."
