COMBINED SECOND COLLECTIONS August 6 th, 2017 FOR HOME MISSIONS Many dioceses right here in the United States do not have enough priests to serve poorer parishes. These dioceses, classified as home missions, cannot provide for the unique needs of their parish communities. The Catholic Home Missions Appeal supports these dioceses by funding essential ministries, including seminary education and lay ministry training. Please be generous in this Appeal and help strengthen the Church at home. FOR LATIN AMERICA We will also take up the Collection for the Church in Latin America. Latin American Catholics are often characterized by their warm, humble, and passionate hearts. They have been blessed by a rich culture as well as natural resources. However, in these times of economic struggle, poverty and violence are still major obstacles in their daily lives. Your support helps give hope to people in the region, especially the youth who seek to live faith. It is more important than ever that we support the Church in Latin America and the Caribbean. TWO WAYS TO BECOME ACTIVE AT OUR PARISH! LECTOR TRAINING Training is planned for those interested in serving as Lectors. You will be entrusted with proclaiming the Word of God with utmost care and reverence at Mass. There is no charge for this training. Please contact Deacon Joe Doherty at 331-1689. EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST Parishioners who have the love of the Eucharist are invited to become Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. The training will be sometime on September 2017, usually Saturday from 1:00pm 4:30pm. Come learn about bringing Jesus in the Eucharist to people at home, in Nursing Homes or Hospitals or become a Eucharistic Minister of the Parish. Please contact Beth Safford at 845-532- 0235 or Fr. Rick at 845-338-1554. Career Opportunity: The Knights of Columbus is seeking a candidate for a career opportunity representing their insurance program.
