A friendly church is one where members seek out newcomers and make them feel welcomed and important. Visitors hear that the congregation can help meet various needs: spiritual nourishment. Christen education. fellowship. friendship, service opportunities. support and comfort during difficulties and more. A friendly church has something for everyone. " becomes a loving home where people desire to return frequently for spiritual. social, physical and emotional support Words of Welcome As we open our hearts to God, may we extend our hands in friendship to one another. The Pastor's Pen Page 2 When the stone was placed at the entrance to the borrowed tomb where Jesus' crucified body was laid, it seemed to signal the end--the end of all the hopes and promises that the disciples had seen in this man they had followed for these three years. It was all over. But early on that Easter morning when the women came to the tomb to anoint Jesus' body for burial, the stone was moved from the entrance. The end of the story had now become a beginning of a new story. Jesus was alive! This Easter we once again hear the wonderful good news--death has been defeated. Jesus is alive and because he lives we also live. Sin and death have been overcome by God's almighty power. Allelluia! May the joy of Easter fill your heart and lead you into each new day. Alleluia!
