Page 2 Feast of the Holy Family A New Year s Blessing May God make your year a happy one! Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain, But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes; Not by making your path easy, But by making you sturdy to travel any path; Not by taking hardships from you, But by taking fear from your heart; Not by granting you unbroken sunshine, But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows; Not by making your life always pleasant, But by showing you when people and their causes need you most, and by making you anxious to be there to help. God s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead. Advent Penance Service the Light on the Top of the Hill The light was shining brightly from the front doors of St. Kilian Church as the faithful filled the church for our Penance Service. Many of the Religious Education children and their families participated in the liturgy making this a very special celebration. All of our participants, children and adults, helped create a warm glow in the church as we prayed for and received God s Mercy. Our Reading proclaimed, You are a light for the whole world. As we each took our leave into the darkness of that Advent evening we remembered that we are called to light up the world so that others will see the good that we do and give Glory to God. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated to make this such a meaningful way to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord. Let your light shine!
