Here is the second volume of NIRMAL DEEP CHRONICLES. I would sincerely extend my heart-felt gratitude to all the readers of NIRMAL DEEP CHRONICLES for your compliments and the words of encouragement. 1. A PICNIC TO HIRNI FALLS 1 2 3 In order to be with the nature and refresh the minds of the novices, on 1st of August 2015, the Novitiate community Nirmal Deep went to Hirni Falls for a picnic. The Novices ( in Picture: 1) and the Novice Maste Fr. Chinnaiah ( lifting the ball in Picture: 2) are enjoying each others company during the picnic. On our way to Hirni falls, we dropped in Asha Deep Marianist community in Binda and visited the students ( in Picture: 3 ) of our school. This day was a special day for the novices as they shared their moments of happiness with one another. 2. ASSUMPTION OF THE BVM AND INDEPENDENCE DAY 4 6 4 On 15 August 2015, We commemorated the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary( in Picture: 4). In addition, on the occasion of the Independence day, we honored Mother India by March Past ( Picture: 5), by hoisting the Indian Tri-color Flag and by singing the National Anthem. Fr. Santosh Tudu S.M., ( in Picture: 6) was the chief guest of the day. 5 Page 2

3. BRO. DENNIS SCHMITZ VISITS NIRMAL DEEP NOVITIATE 7 4. THE ARRIVAL OF BRO. DANIEL STUPKA SM On 16 August 2015, Bro. Dennis Schmitz ( Centre in Picture: 7) arrived at Nirmal Deep for a visit to the Novitiate Community. He spent his valuable time with the novices and the staff of the Novitiate Community. We sincerely appreciate and express our gratitude to Bro. Dennis for his important visit and valuable suggestions to Nirmal Deep Novitiate Community. 8 Bro. Daniel Stupka S.M., (Blue Shirt in Picture: 8) arrived at Nirmal Deep Novitiate Community in mid August, 2015. The novices and the staff received him joyfully and welcomed him heartily. In return, Bro. Dan was ecstatic to see the young novices in the Novitiate. He, too, expressed his genuine willingness to render his service to Nirmal Deep Novitiate Community. 5. MEETINGS AT NIRMAL DEEP NOVITIATE 10 9 All the members ( in Pic: 9 & 10) of the District Chapter, the District Council and the Formation Council gathered at Nirmal Deep in the month of August 2015 for their meetings. The novices and the staff of Nirmal Deep Novitiate Community welcomed the brothers in a traditional way and received them with joyful hearts. Bro. Dennis Schmitz from the Provincial Council joined the brothers in their meetings. Page 3

6.VOLUNTEERS VISIT TO NIRMAL DEEP COMMUNITY 11 On 5 September 2015, two volunteers ( sitting in Pic: 11) from Spain paid a short visit to Nirmal Deep Novitiate Community. The Community welcomed them with garlands and a welcome song. 7. TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION AND BOOK REVIEW ON POPE FRANCIS REJOICE On 5 September 2015, with mother India, we celebrated Teachers Day. On this special occasion, we honored our staff members and expressed our gratitude to them as they are our teachers in the Novitiate Community. In addition, Bros: Jeevan, George, Mathew, Naiman ( from left to right in first row) and Bros: Sylvester, Victor, Kuldeep, Peter and Issac ( from left to right in second row) presented the book review on Rejoice. 8. THE FEAST DAY OF BLESSEDS; CARLOS, FIDEL AND JESUS Page 5 On the 18 September 2015, we celebrated the feast day of Blesseds; Carlos, Fidel and Jesus. The celebration began with the procession from Our Lady of Jharkhand followed by the Holy Eucharistic celebration. 9. KARMA CELEBRATION 13 12 14 On 24 September 2015, we celebrated Karma Feast at Nirmal Deep Novitiate Community. According to the Christian tradition of this Feast, we placed the Cross on Karma branches and Blessed them (in Pic: 12). We, too, honored the Cross and the branches with the Aarati (in Pic: 13). Then, we took the Cross and the branches to the Chapel with a traditional dance (in Pic: 14). We highlighted the Eucharistic Celebration with a Karma Story and the inspiring message of Cross as our Savior which this story teaches to all Christians. 10. FOUNDATION DAY OF THE SOCIETY OF MARY On 2 October 2015, we celebrated the Foundation day of the Society of Mary remembering the great vision and mission of Bl. Fr. William Joseph Chaminade. We expressed our sincere thanks to God for the gift of our founder and for the gift of the congregation of the Society of Mary (SM). On the honor of this feast, brothers from Gyan deep, Singhpur and Fidel Nilaya ( Saraitoli) joined us for a friendly volleyball match. The presence of Fr. Andre Fetis ( the religious head for the entire SM) and Bro. Maximin ( the education head for the entire SM) was a grace for the community. Marianist sisters from Nazareth Nilaya doubled our joy by their valuable presence for this celebration. 11. VOLLEYBALL MATCH AGAINST CLARETIANS On 7 October 2015, we had volleyball match against Claretian brothers. In the match, Claretians came in first and the Marianists came in Second. We congratulate all the players for their wonderful performance. This time of togetherness with the Claretians helped us to be acquainted with each other. Moreover, we believe such gathering made our relationship healthy and strong in Christ.

12. FAMILY NIGHT AND THANKSGIVING TO BROS; DANIEL STUPKA, ANDRE FETIS AND MAXIMIN MAGNAN 15 16 17 On 10 October 2015, the whole Novitiate Community expressed heart-felt gratitude to Bros; Daniel Stupka SM ( Pic: 15), Andre Fetis ( left in Pic: 16) and Maximin Magnan (right in Pic: 16) for their valuable presence in our community. Bro. Daniel Stupka spent six weeks in the Novitiate teaching music and English to the novices. We appreciate and thank Bro. Dan for his generous service to the Novitiate in Ranchi. We also would like to extend our thanks to Fr. Andre and Bro. Maxmin for their two day visit to the Novitiate. The presence of these three great Marianists was a blessing for the Nirmal Deep Novitiate. On the occasion of thanking these great Marianists, the novices danced and rocked the stage (Pic: 17) with rhythmic Nagpuri music and rocking steps. 13. MARIANIST WORLD DAY OF PRAYER 18 The Marianist World day of Prayer was held on 11 October 2015 at Chaminade Parish, Singhpur for the Family of Mary in Northern India. The World day of Prayer began with the Rosary and the procession from Prabhat Tara School, singhpur followed by the Holy Eucharistic Celebration. The S.M., novices (Pic: 18) danced for the entrance hymn and took the priests in procession to the altar. Fr. Andre Fetis, the religious head for the entire SM presided over the Holy Eucharist. Then we had lunch and traditional dance. We concluded the world day of prayer with three O clock prayer. All the members of the Family of Mary ( S.M. Brothers, FMI Sisters and MLC) actively took part in the world day of prayer. The responsibilities of the World Day of Prayer were distributed to the Brothers, Sisters and MLC. Thus, there was a real Family Spirit and it was a grace filled world day of prayer. Page 6

19 14. OUR LADY OF THE PILLAR 20 On 12 October 2015, on the feast of Our Lady of the Pillar, we had Holy Eucharist at the feet of Our Lady of the Pillar (Pic: 19 & 20) outside the dining hall of the Nirmal Deep Novitiate. Fr. Andre Fetis presided over the Holy Eucharist. It was a wonderful experience being celebrating Mass in the nature. 15. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS 22 23 21 In the month of August, we celebrated the birthdays of Bro. Prakash Jonnada, Fr. Santosh Tudu, Bro. Mathew ( from left to right in Pic; 21). We, also celebrated the birthday of Fr. Sudhir Kujur ( left in Pic: 22) with joyful hearts. In the month of October, we celebrated the birthdays of Bros: Julius, Anil, Amit and Mukesh ( from left to right in Pic: 23). We offered special prayers for these brothers on their birthdays. We wish them all happy birthdays and good years ahead! 16. BOOK REVIEW ON LAUDATO SI On 29 & 30 October, 2015, the second year novices; Sylvester, Kuldeep, Naiman, George and Issac ( from left to right in the first row) and the first year novices; Ajay, Roshan, Mukesh, Prakash and Amit ( from left to right in the second row) presented the book review on LAUDATO SI. Their presentations reminded us the importance of our environment and encouraged us to safeguard our environment. Page 7

17. THE ARRIVAL OF THREE BROTHERS AT NIRMAL DEEP TO BEGIN THE SARA- GOSSA RETREAT 24 After the intensive course of Spirituality in Bangalore, three Bros; Julius, Santosh and Pratap ( from left to right with garlands in Pic: 24) arrived at Nirmal Deep on 30 October 2015 to begin their Saragossa retreat. Fr. Chinnaiah, the novice master ( in blue shirt in Pic: 24) and Bro. Marianus Bilung, the assistant novice master will be guiding these brothers throughout the Saragossa retreat. Let us remember and pray for these brothers for their fruitful retreat. Thank you brothers and sisters for your support and prayers. We continue to request you to pray for us.
