CHERYL J ROOKER, NOVEMBER 8, 2009
I am sorry for the loss of your Dad. Such a testimony of a man's life when family and loved ones come together to celebrate the values, life lessons, memories and laughter complied in a lifetime. Well done thy good and faithful servant is something we as Christians should strive to achieve throughout our time here on earth. Based on testimony I truly believe that was your Dads race he was running. Being from Texas I like to think maybe Jesus says, " ATTA BOY B.W.". I thank you Billy, David and Shawn; I have always been in awe at how close ya'll are to one another. It is very evident the importance and value of family your Dad taught you guys. CHAD W. I am sorry for your loss but may you rejoice in the fact that B.W. was a Christian. B.W. or B-Dub as many former LCU students knew him was one of the first persons I met in summer school at LCU many years ago. He was very friendly, kind and funny. Cherish you precious memories and may God hold you in His hand and give you comfort at this time. RETA PAULETTE (SETTLE) MIMMS, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 Billy, David, Shawn & Gwen: I know you probably don't remember us from Big Spring, but we just wanted you to know how much we thought of B Dub. He was a wonderful man and I know he was a great father and brother. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers. WESLEY & BETTY THIXTON, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 Billy, David, Shawn, and Gwen...I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Your family meant a lot to me growing up and your Dad and brother will always have a special place in my memory. B.W. not only had a part in bringing me to the Lord, but countless others as well. I remember him making a special trip to the church to baptize a friend of mine who felt called late one evening. I have lots of great memories of B.W. singing, smiling, and joking around with us boys. He was a great guy, and I know my life is just one of many he touched. I'm on the road working and can't attend the service, but please know my thoughts are with you all. CORY W PHARISS, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 We both attended LCU with B.W. (B-dub) as we knew him. He was so much fun and a true believer in our Lord. He was interested in people and never met a stranger who was open to drinking a cup of coffee and exchanging funny stories. We are glad to learn of his life after college -- his pulpit preaching and of his legacy of children. May God Bless you all as you grieve his absence. May you find comfort in the knowledge of his eternal life with the Savior whom he loved. LEE AND SHARON BROWN, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 B. W. and I were good friends at LCC and were in Meistersingers for 2 years. He and I spent many evenings visiting and going to a Pizza Inn for Pepperroni
Pizza and a large pitcher of Coke. I visited with him when he was at Amherst after his Heart Attack and then he left Lubbock and I have not visited with him since. May his memory be a warmth to all of your hears forever. JOE L. FREEMAN, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 Billy, David, Shawn and Gwen, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of B.W. I have very fond memories of him and you had a great dad and brother. May you turn to each other for comfort and know that your friends and family love you very much. Love, Gaylynn GAYLYNN COVEY, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 It seems like only yesterday, instead of forty years ago, when I met B.W. and the rest of the Briggs family. Little did I know that our paths would cross many times in the years to come, and that each time B.W. would always be a friend and an inspiration. I have many wonderful memories of him, and I will cherish those memories always. May God bless all of you during this sad time in your lives. In Christian love, Reba REBA WILLIAMSON LIMMER, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 Billy, David & Gwen, I just heard the news from my mom who lives in Abernathy. I'm sorry for your loss. B-Dub was always a special friend to me since our colleage days at LCU. We had some great times together spiritually and musically as well. I always admired his sense of humor and his vocal abilities. It's really usual or maybe "God orchestrated" but B-Dub as been on my mind and my heart alot in these past few weeks. I'm just sorry I was unable to locate him or contact him. Billy & David, I've not seen you two since you were small but be proud of your Dad and cherish the memories you have as I do. I really look forward to singing with him again! Love, Lanny "Figgy" Newton LANNY FIGGY NEWTON, NOVEMBER 4, 2009 B.W. preached for a while in Spade, TX around 1978 & 1979. We really enjoyed him. He loved to sing. Imagine how surprised I was to see his face on the cover of a record album in the United Supermarket in Littlefield, TX.! He explained that his friend was the manager of the store. We later moved to Midland, TX and visted him in Big Spring once or twice. God Bless all of you
at this time.
