Recently, you have heard and read about one aspect of this process: The Parish Survey. This tool will provide a clearer picture of who we are as a parish and what directions might be important for our future especially our five year plan. Each parish member, high school age or older, is asked to complete the survey. Your response is very important to us. The survey will be conducted between August 15th and September 15th. The lucky ones find refuge at emergency shelters across the city. The newest shelter, a joint effort of UGM and Mary's Place, is seeking volunteers to provide dinner to the 48 women and children each evening. This is an ideal project for two families to work together to purchase, prepare and serve the meal at the shelter. Children of all ages can participate. Thank you! More than 1,400 Ballard, Magnolia and Queen Anne households receive food, hygiene items, or emergency financial help each week for the Ballard Food Bank. We re there to meet our neighbors basic needs. Did you know? in 2013 the Ballard Food Bank distributed 1.45 million pounds of food 24% of our food recipients are elderly and 15% are children Our food comes from a variety of sources including local grocery stores, private donations, and the government. The vast majority of the Ballard Food Bank s funding comes from neighborhood donors and local small businesses. We also provide our clients with mail box services.
