Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen. Thank you for your generous support last weekend to the second collection for the Mission areas in the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. We are happy to serve the pastoral and sacramental needs of St. Vincent de Paul parish. Belonging to an international religious Congregation dedicated to the love of God made present in the world through the Eucharist enriches the life of our parish. This Sunday concludes three weeks of General Chapter with the leadership from around the world spending time in prayer and discernment on how we can respond to the many challenges facing the Church in our times. It is our joy to share with you the Eucharist on this feast of Corpus Christi. We hope you will join us in the procession at 10:00 this Sunday.

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ Sunday "Happy is the soul that knows how to find Jesus in the Eucharist, and in the Eucharist all Things.- St. Peter Julian Eymard. It was on the feast of Corpus Christi and Fr. Peter Julian Eymard spoke with passion about the living presence of Christ as he preached on Eucharistic adoration. While carrying the Blessed Sacrament in procession he had an inspiration to make known to the world the love of ur Lord hidden within the Bread that came down from heaven to feed the hungers of the human family. Acting on this awareness that the church was in need of a religious community and laity who would dedicate themselves to the abiding presence of Christ ready to transform the world. He formed the Society of the Blessed Sacrament on May 13th, 1856. The words of this Eucharistic apostle ring loud and clear in our world today. Will we work to spread the Kingdom of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament? Will we set the world on fire through Eucharistic Adoration inviting people to come and spend some time in quiet prayer? Whether our world flourishes or degenerates depends upon our response to the call of this great lover of Christ to honor and adore the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. For He is waiting... He is here. With St. Peter Julian Eymard, Apostle of the Eucharist, let us proclaim, Today, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is the grace and need of our time. Society will be restored and renewed when all its members group themselves around our Emmanuel. Setting aside a regular time each day to adore and visit Jesus in His Sacrament of Love will help us to grow in awareness of his presence in other areas of our lives. People have time for other things except for visits with the living God in the Blessed Sacrament. Then we will have answered the call of ur Mother and lead all souls to her Eucharistic Son. For as St. Peter Julian prayed, Pray for us, Virgin Immaculate, ur Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament. That the Eucharistic Kingdom of Jesus Christ may come among us! The spread of the Eucharistic Kingdom of Christ is necessary for the salvation of society. The Eucharist is the life not only of the individual Christian, but of nations as well. We know well that an age flourishes or degenerates in accordance with its worship of the divine Eucharist. It is the life and measure of its faith, charity, and virtue. The Eucharist is not only for personal piety; it is essential to social life, for it is the very life of the world. We must take Christ from the solitude of His tabernacle, so that He may place Himself at the head of Christian society, to guide and save it. We must build stately palaces, royal thrones, organize a court of faithful servants, a family of friends and a host of adorers and apostles. Such a public and solemn protestation of our faith in the kingship of Christ, in the reality of His sacramental presence is a prime necessity of our day. St. Peter Julian Eymard, Apostle of Eucharistic Love, pray for us, lead us to the heart of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament. Inflame the world with love for the Divine Son who is waiting to be loved, in our midst. "What is that love in which we ought to believe? It is the love of Jesus Christ, the love which He testifies to us in the Eucharist, the love which is Himself, living and infinite love. "Happy are they who believe in the love of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist! They love, for to believe is to love." We believe an honorable man on his word. Why should we put less faith in that of ur Lord? "When a friend desires to prove to his friend that he loves him, he tells him so, and he presses his hand affectionately. "When ur Lord wants to show His love for us, He does so in person, discarding the intervention of any third person, whether angelic or human. Love suffers no intermediate agents. "He remains in the Holy Eucharist that He may repeat to us incessantly: I love you! You must see that I love you!'"(st. Peter Julian Eymard)

June 18, 2017 www.svdpfl.com Dad, Build a Strong Catholic Family While these actions spring from a heart filled with love, there are three very simple ways to love your kids that make a difference everyday: 1. Tell your kids you love them by actually saying the words all the time. ne of the ways kids learn best is through repetition. Saying I love you to them several times a day will help them know and trust that you really do love them. 2. Love your kids by listening to them. Turn off the TV, get off the computer, and spend at least ten meaningful minutes each day listening closely to your son or daughter. Find out what made him or her feel happy or bad during the day, and what he or she is thinking about right now. Give your children the gifts of your time and your ear. It s important for children to know that you belong just to them for at least a little bit each day. 3. Remind your kids that there is someone who loves them even more than you do. Tell them how much Jesus loves them and keep on telling them. It s essential that kids be reminded of this amazing love on a daily basis. Knowing that they are beloved children of God will assure them that they not only have a special place in your family, they have an even more special place in God s family. Keep on doing whatever those big things are that you do to show your kids you love them, but don t overlook the little things that show your love for them. After all, the little things ARE the big things. GET YUR TICKETS HERE!! Don t delay or miss the fun. ur next baseball game is on August 24th just around the corner. Summer Day Camp still has openings Please join us on Monday Mornings 10:30 am to 12:30 pm St. Vincent de Paul Parish Procession SVDP after 9 a.m. Mass - 10:00 a.m. Procession 4843 Mile Stretch Dr. Holiday, Florida There is an ancient and beautiful custom in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church called the Corpus Christi procession. The consecrated Host, the Body of the Lord, is exposed in what is called a monstrance. The term is derived from a Latin phrase which means to show or reveal. The faithful process the Bodyof the Lord outside surrounding their church buildings. This Eucharistic procession can be a powerful witness to an age which has lost its sense of the sacred.
