F riday: Jesus is light Just like there was a purpose for the light in Gen 1 there is a purpose for the light that Jesus gives. Purpose: 112 (John 1:5), so men won t, 113 but have the 114 (John 8:12) Problem: the darkness 115 (John 1:5); men rather than, because 116 (John 3:19) Solution: whosoever 117 should not perish but have everlasting life (John 12:46) What other things result in darkness? S unday: Source On Tuesday you saw the two kinds of life that people can have: physical and spiritual. Physical life for man began with the creation of Adam and Eve in Genesis 1. Unfortunately, Adam sinned and brought death (physical and spiritual) on the entire race (as you saw in Rom 5:12-21). You also saw how Jesus counteracted the curse and made it possible for man to have not only physical life but also spiritual life. In 1Cor 15:45-50 Paul also contrasts Adam and Jesus but this time it shows the difference between physical and spiritual life. Fill in the blanks below to show the contrasts between physical life (Adam) and spiritual life (Christ). Jesus explained this in great detail in John 3 to someone who was religious and moral but still lacked spiritual life. Who was Jesus talking to (vs 1)? 173 How do you know he was religious? believed in 174 (vs 2), 175 (teacher) of Israel (vs 10) How do you know he was moral (vs 2)? sought Jesus as a 176 But Jesus knew being religious and moral were not enough. He went straight to the heart of the problem in vs. 3 ye must be 177 (spiritual life). STUDY Through the Bible In the beginning life & light (13.4) 13

Unfortunately, Nicodemus thought Jesus was talking about what kind of life (vs 4)? 178 So Jesus contrasted physical and spiritual life in vs. 5-12. Vs. 19: Men are condemned because when light came into the world men because. 194 Vs. 20: Men who do evil 195 the light (Jesus) lest their deeds should be reproved (examined). How is receive defined? 198 Vs. 13 clarifies that it isn t based on human ability (not of, 199 nor of the will of the, 200 nor of the 201 ) but is only possible because of. 202 What does Paul say you need (Gal 3:26) in order to be able to believe in Jesus? 203 Conclusion Creation is a visible example of how life reproduces. What repeated phrase in the verses in Gen 1 below shows how life reproduces? 204 Fill in each row to show what things reproduced after his kind.
