January 11, 2013 Starry Night - This is a series of invitation to reach to Allah and His pleasure, at this blessed time when we remember Allah and strive to gain His pleasure then this is the objective of our life The main way to reach Allah by the Will of Allah - Ibn al Qayyim said regarding the types of people in the way of Allah - people in the way to Allah are two; according to their position high and low. The people with high position are the ones who knew the way of Allah and they took this path seeking the help of Allah - they are the ones honorable to Allah. The lower class was the one which either did not know the way to Allah and they did not even pay attention to it or they knew the way but did not try to follow that path. May Allah make us among those who strive hard in His path try to seek knowledge enabling us to know Allah with the help of Allah. Today we will see guiding star number 8: You have a way to go to Allah - the one who thinks the way to Allah is too long his hastening towards Allah will be very slow and weak ( ) the thought itself will weaken the way to Allah. Though it is far and long ( ) but we should never think like that in our minds. What should we do ( ) we should always concentrate in our minds what we should do to reach that goal and take that path: Page 1

We should always have a high courage ( ) like a mountain it needs resolution, determination we need a high level of determination to walk on that way. Also we need continuity - actions and deeds which are continuous, stability and continuity always improve the efforts and then today will be better than yesterday and tomorrow will be better than today though the way is long and far but the courage and continuous improvement for the sake of Allah make the way short and near. Don t turn ( ) don t go back just go forward only one direction but if we think the way to Allah is long and far then our efforts will weaken and that will end up in us turning back it all about strengthening our inside. Our enemies are trying to weaken us but don t let them overtake your efforts. If we take these three firmly then we will be able to follow the path of Allah - just don t think that it is long and far just think that with the help of Allah and with His reliance ( ) only we can stick to that path and follow it. Stop complaining ( ) that it is far and long because complaint also weakens our efforts just rely on Allah. Always we need to remember that when we are on this way then we need to walk continuously, don t look at others and don t stop walking. What makes us stop is the complain which makes the person to stop on one place just keep on going without considering the things around just do your best till you die. We are here for a short time so continue walking without listening to people around us, without complaining and without giving any consideration to other whispers and temptation as is given in Ayah 99 Surah Hijr And worship your Lord until there certainty (death). comes to you the Page 2

We are supposed to worship Allah in our life and that should be the duty in our life as is said in Surah Sharh Ayah 7: So when you have finished [your duties], worship]. prime objective and then stand up [for And to your Lord direct [your] longing. Devote yourself to Allah when you finish your worldly responsibilities then go to your Lord and worship Him don t relax after finishing with the worldly matters, turn your heart towards the One who Deserves all your attention and worship. To your Lord only you need to have hope we should have hope only from Allah. There is no way to Allah except the guiding stars ( ), we need to ask Allah to discover them and pray Allah to make us act upon them. don t complain and don t say it is too far then our way will be crooked and difficult for us to walk on the way to Allah. My beloved sisters whom I love for the sake of Allah do your best in this life, we have only one life and how much this life matters because this life can take to the highest level in the Paradise under the shade of Allah - don t take it very easy always be afraid of the hellfire and work towards freeing yourself from the torments of the hellfire and work towards the mercy of Allah. Khadija RA asked Prophet Muhammad why he did not sleep, he replied that the time to sleep has gone, Khadija was always amazed by the worship of Prophet Muhammad, the way he used to call his Lord and the way he used to strive towards worshipping Him. She asked Prophet that Allah has expiated all your sins and still you are crying and Page 3

worshipping, he replied that don t you want me to be a grateful slave of Allah. These are the ones whose hearts were enlightened and they knew the way to Allah and they continuously strived towards their Lord. May Allah also make our hearts enlightened and give us the courage to walk on His path till our death Ameen. Be firm on the way and on the obedience, don t ever say I am self-sufficient, even if it is a single word and single effort of good deed, how much we need it, never think we have done so much, even if a person all his life has done good deeds he should still feel poor and should always struggle towards that path. Never lose hope and never think that we are unable to walk on the path because it is too long, just keep the reliance on Allah and ask His help and continue to do your duty and then we will reach the goal with the Will of Allah ( ) Ameen. be patient on the obedience and devotion and when we are patient on obedience then we know then we are still alive and we need to strive in the way of Allah and struggle hard, we need to reach to Allah and the ones who will reach to Allah and the Paradise are the patients ones - the sabiroon. Allah said in Surah Mu minun Ayah 111 Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day for their patient endurance - that they are the attainers [of success]." Patience is the best provision from Allah because with without patience nobody can reach the goal, nothing is better than this provision ( ) because it is the underlying factor in achieving the ability to walk on the path of Allah. Page 4

Another Hadith of Prophet Muhammad that patience is like sunlight, beautiful light, because when a person has patience then he can see the way of Allah very clearly. The person who is patient has a hidden reward from Allah. As mentioned in Ayah 10 Surah Zumur, Allah will give rewards to the patient ones without any accounts, infinite as He Wills: Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allah is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account." In the Tafseer of this Ayah it is said that for the patient people the reward will be like the pouring water, abundant so never underestimate the patience because we think patience does not have much value because we don t have to do anything for it but holding oneself is the most difficult job. For example holding yourself from complaining especially in the way of Allah is difficult and people who hold themselves from doing that will be rewarded abundantly from Allah. be patient and don t think the road to Allah need patient because with it even the longest way be shorter. It is not is too long, just we physical walking to Allah but it is the journey of our hearts. Take Nuh AS ( )as an example for patience because he was a messenger and he was calling people towards Allah and His Lordship for 1500 years, he was calling people in different ways. They say that Nuh has the record in the history for his patience and till the last minute he was calling people towards Allah. Page 5

We always need to strive hard in the way of Allah, the messengers and prophets all their efforts were directed to guiding the stubborn humanity ( ) and Allah s Will that He sent different messengers at different times to different nations. The sacrifices they gave and how they were treated, some of them were burnt, some were cut into pieces and others humiliated and mocked upon but they never lost their patience and till their last minute on earth they called people towards Allah. All of them were very special slaves of Allah and because of their patience they were chosen as the prophets by Allah, they never complaint about the behavior of the people, never called anyone other than Allah to solve their problems and never discontinued their preaching till the last minute SubhanAllah. Prophet Muhammad said that on the Day of Judgment messengers and prophets will come followed by their people, some will come with 10 people, some with more or less and then a messenger will come with zero followers. He called people towards Allah all his life but nobody followed him SubhanAllah but all of them will get their reward because they were doing it for the sake of Allah and Allah will reward them for their efforts. If the people did not listen and followed their messengers then the messengers will not be accountable for their deeds, the messengers completed their mission with patience and they will be rewarded for that. The efforts of all the messengers can be taken as equal to establishing faith on the earth ( ), to make everybody believe in Allah. To call people towards faith and Allah and to achieve that needs a lot of patience that s why in Hadith it is said that if one person is guided towards good on your hands then this deed will be greater than all other goods of this life because it needs patience. Never think that the way to Allah is very long because it weakens our efforts ( ), continue and keep going ( ), don t discontinue because tomorrow is better than today and today is better than yesterday, seek help from Page 6

Allah and keep on walking ( ), don t make even one second without being in your account as every moment is very precious because being relaxed is when you reach Allah reach Allah, because there is no relaxing in this world, the real relaxation is when you. When we know the value of this duniya that causes us to kill our desires but if our desires are controlling us then we are dead ( ) so if we really want to be alive then we need to know the value of this duniya and the worth of our desires SubhanAllah. And if we achieve that then the way to Allah becomes very easy and smooth, it will be though it is difficult but it will be easy on us because where we are going and to whom we are going, this is a matter of faith. Allah is telling us that this is what we need in our life and glad tidings ( ) for those who know these and what they are supposed to do in this life and how they are supposed to direct all their efforts on the way to Allah and it will be said to them this is your day ( ) SubhanAllah, means this is your life in the Paradise under the shade of Allah. We ask Allah to guide us to the right path, His path and the firmness to be on that path till our death ( ) and to reach our goals Ameen Ya Rabbi Alimeen. We ask Allah for His forgiveness and Mercy. Anything that is good from these notes is from Allah. Any mistakes & misrepresentations are my own. I ask Allah for His acceptance of all our good deeds and forgiveness of our sins Ameen. Page 7
